LEGIT?-Craigslist-AirCurve new in shipping box

I found on Craigslist a new, still sealed in the SHIPPING box ResMed Aircurve VAuto. Is this legit? Too good to be true? Why would it still be in the shipping box? What sort of questions should I ask?

It’s not near me. But photos show it’s still sealed up in the brown cardboard factory shipping box with original shipping label, taped shut etc. Like it fell off a delivery truck. What should I ask? It’s such a great deal!

2....does it really matter if it's what we want and at a price we want to pay

Sometimes it probably "fell off a truck" and sometimes it's a DME or one of their employees selling it out the back door of the store to make a little extra cash.

Don't ever rely on a label for proof though. I can repackage any machine I want to in a suitable box and make it look new.
Always verify by looking at model name or model number and hours of use (run hours and not therapy hours) and make sure you pay by some method where you have recourse if they take your money and don't ship or don't ship what they showed you.

CraigslIst ads--the only way to check is IN PERSON,
in a public place, with AC outlet available to test and check run hours,
smell, and sound levels.

I agree that you should pay with paypal...if it is not as advertised or if they do not ship, you are covered by the paypal buyer protection.

Well, if you can LMK know what happens. I’m curious if it’s a good/legit machine. I need one but it’s not in my area. After reading all these comments, no CL purchases unless I can test the machine in person. Good luck!
