Re: Switching cpap machines
I did. I was using the elite, and I bought an autoset. The elite set pressure was 15. Now I’m using the autoset at 10 and 20.

Re: Switching cpap machines
palerider and pugsy suggested a minimum pressure of 12. the chart you showed has the minimum set at 10. palerider wondered why.vincec2019 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 1:21 pmI did. I was using the elite, and I bought an autoset. The elite set pressure was 15. Now I’m using the autoset at 10 and 20.

Re: Switching cpap machines
And what was suggested for a minimum was much closer to 15. I'd go with 14 tonight after looking at your pressure trace.vincec2019 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 1:21 pmI did. I was using the elite, and I bought an autoset. The elite set pressure was 15. Now I’m using the autoset at 10 and 20.

Ahh got it. Maybe that’s were I’m going wrong. I’ll change it to 12. Thanks for pointing that out!

Which part of "14" is not making it through to you?vincec2019 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 1:52 pmAhh got it. Maybe that’s were I’m going wrong. I’ll change it to 12. Thanks for pointing that out!

I was looking at the previous suggestion. Thank you for taking the time to post about the settings.

Re: Switching cpap machines
You're used to 15, if you need 15, then going with much lower pressures is just going to cause you to have bad nights. which is what's happening.vincec2019 wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2019 6:47 pmI was looking at the previous suggestion. Thank you for taking the time to post about the settings.
Start with nearly 15 (14) and ease your way down.

Thanks Pale. I think that’s exactly what’s happening.

And leaving it Max on the high send is ok? Like I said I was getting alot of 19’s so just leave it at Max? I don’t think I am swallowing any air. Are there any other signs such a high pressure might not be ok?

Re: Switching cpap machines
Max is just "max" it allows the machine to go that high if it sees a need. If it doesn't need it it won't go high. Personally my old machine hit 19 all the time and I ended up getting a bilevel machine that could go higher than 20. Since then it runs in the 22 range and I have excellent apnea control.

Re: Switching cpap machines
Thanks. I’ll leave it at max then as suggested, and previously suggested by the others.

Re: Switching cpap machines
Air swallowing is about it, unless you're one of the rare people that gets more and more centrals as the pressure goes up... then, as with air swallowing, you have to balance lower obstructive apneas with increasing other problems.vincec2019 wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 6:23 amAnd leaving it Max on the high send is ok?
