AHI jump (still low)

Post by MildApniac » Tue May 21, 2019 12:55 pm

Hi All,

I have ignored my data for over a year and just use the machine S9 autoset every night.

Today, I finally updated Sleepyhead to ver 1 and imported the SD card data. The summary "appears" to show a jump exactly a month ago but I suspect that on this machine, there is much less detail stored after 30 days. I had years of data at one point when I imported the SD card every month but then sleepyhead crashed and I lost a LOT of that, like a couple years ago and I quite importing. oh well.

After todats import, when I click individual days, the AHI in the last month is often over 1 which I know is supposed to be very good, but was .1, .15, .2, ,05 etc (way less than 1) prior to a month ago. Peak pressures are over 12 sometimes more.

So I guess this creates several questions:

1) Is Sleepyhead still "the" software to use for this?
2) Do new resmed machines (Im due for a new machine) store detailed data until the SD is full rather than only 30 days (which I always thought was stupid)
3) Can this "jump" in AHI be trusted?
4) IF it did jump, what could be the possible causes?

I hope this made sense!!!!

Found an answer to question 2 for resmed, not sure other brand machines tho.

How much storage do ResMed’s sleep therapy devices use on the SD card?
It varies depending on the sleep therapy device. For example, on an S9 therapy device a 1GB SD card easily stores 365 days of usage data, 30 days of detailed data, and seven days of high-resolution data. On any AirSense 10 or AirCurve 10 therapy device, you can get up to 365 days of usage data, and 30 days of both detailed and high-resolution data.

How are you feeling? If you are feeling well, the AHI jump is not significant. Best regards and good luck in your treatment.

I feel much worse on the vary few time I dont use it, when I do, some days I think I'm still a little tired and use coffee but that could more likely be my non consistent bed and wake times. due to job. when I was on a rock steady schedule 10pm-6am sleep every night for a few months it was never tired so I think my next step is to fix sleeping properly. I just find it wonky that coincedentally the 30 days of detail that the S9 keeps show higher AHI than prior to that. But the earlier AHI comes from the stored basic data which they keep on the sd for a year so it cant be wrong.

Just Weird.

The Resmed S9 under SleepyHead does not show the correct AHI if the detailed data is not availiable. If there was jump in the AHI data 30 days ago its just the way sleepyhead shows ahi for 30 days ago, concentrate on the data for the last few days post the daily data for a typical day for analysis
