I have severe sleep apnea, I have to pay for my own machine. Kaiser will cover none of it.
It's down to brand new from (Not sure if I'm allowed to mention Vendor)
Resmed AirSense 10 Autosew w ClimatelineAir Tube for $689.00
Verse
Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto CPAP w/ Humidifier & Heated Tubing $599.00
I really like the idea of saving the $100.00 and have had good experience with Phillips as a brand but
if the Airsense is better than I'll spend the extra.
Looked for open box or refurbed units but couldn't find anything that's that great. If someone can
recommend a reman or open box unit I'm interested. Or knows of better deal on a new unit.
Any advice is appreciated.

Already a few responses...so read those to see if it helps you out with your decision.
cpap.com has a sale on ResMed stuff right now (machines and masks) ...20% off with code SLEEP20...makes the AirSense 10 AutoSet $706.40 with a full 2 year warranty and brand new. Good people to work with.
https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... t-humidair
If used doesn't freak you out...secondwindcpap.com has a gently used (will be less than 2K hours) AirSense 10 AutoSet for 489.00
https://www.secondwindcpap.com/Used_CPA ... gIP2vD_BwE
all the way down close to the bottom of the page.
Again good people to work with.

Re: Newbie About to pull trigger needs advice
It’d be great if you could rent or borrow one of each to see what suits you best. For what it’s worth, I had a PR machine for one week of titration and was very bothered by the way it always seemed to want to start giving me the IPAP pressure before I had finished exhaling. The machine I took home at the end of that week was a ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset, and I was relieved to find that it does an excellent job of following my breathing.

The Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet is well worth the extra $90.zcpapguy wrote: ↑Wed May 15, 2019 6:30 pmI have severe sleep apnea, I have to pay for my own machine. Kaiser will cover none of it.

Re: Newbie About to pull trigger needs advice
I would have to agree with palerider. I also have severe sleep apnea and have used a ResMed Airsense 10 for about four years. I am very satisfied and have had absolutely no problems with it. My sister, who began using a CPAP machine about a year before I did, recommended that brand and the medical supply company that I purchased the unit from mentioned that the ResMed machine was considered the 'Cadillac' of CPAPs.
