Pedantically-speaking, it will affect it ever so slightly: a different area of the humidifier water will be exposed compared to what it’d be if perfectly level, but odds are you aren’t able to perceive any difference.

For a given volume of water it's faster/easier with a larger area exposed.
You are assuming that the water chamber is perfectly aligned with the pump. Perhaps the angle of the chair brings everything into perfect alignment.

There's no limit to how silly you can get when you choose the pedantic route. I was actually starting to compute the warping of the gravitational field by my body next to my pump, but I chose not to share that ...

Good catch--my fuction was supposed to be a function.
Unfortunately someone applied suction, and stole my "n".
Probably Pugsy's aliens.

Pedantic nonsense

Heavens, how bad would it be if you were using a humidifier on your boat!!!! You'd probably have to factor in tides and prevailing winds!

I keep a battery powered supercomputer on board to help with the calculations!

Actually the boat IS a humidifier - it rarely goes below 80% at night with the hatches funneling in air right off the water.
