Pillow recommendation: side sleeper

Post by Vinny V » Fri Apr 19, 2019 7:14 am

Hi I'm looking for help with pillows,

Before cpap I was a side sleeper, sometime face sleeper but now with my mask I'm having problems with pillows and sleeping positions
I have been through many pillows, thick, thin, firm, soft even the My Pillow pillows.( Multiple sizes)
I get myself into these weird sleeping positions which in the morning hurt...

If the pillow is good for the mask ( not leaking moving etc.) I wake with a painful neck, if the pillow is good for me I have mask problems etc.

Either way it's affecting sleep quality
So right now I have a closet filled with pillows that I don't use..

Thanks

I have been using this buckwheat hull pillow since 2014. I have tried others, but keep coming back to this one from pure-sleep. I am a FF mask user and sleep on my side. Watch the video.

I feel your pain. You're not alone. I've also tried multiple pillows over the past year and a half for exactly the same reason. Felt like I was on a quest for the ultimate pillow. Wish I could tell you it was successful, but I ended up going back to my original pillow that I used prior to CPAP.

I reaffirm the experience of Chris on this forum. I am a side sleeper, wear a ResMed Activa mask (Not a full-face) , and have never had good results from any of the so-called Sleep Apnea pillows. I have gone back to just a plain normal pillow. The odd shaped ones, the ones with cutouts, etc. were never satisfactory for me. I try to position myself on my left side with the mask extended over the side of my pillow, and I don't often displace my mask and cause a high leak.
