Floored my Doctor

Post by FaethSilverwolf » Thu Apr 18, 2019 2:04 pm

Merry Meet Everyone,
I wanted to share a very positive achievement with you all. I had my yearly check up this month and my doctor told me that he has VERY RARELY seen so much improvement in the entire span of his career. I went from 107.8 apneas a night. To .075 a night. I'm so proud of the change my doctor is seeing. I just felt it would be nice for everyone to see a success story so I thought I'd share.

Maybe more doctors will aspire to helping/letting this happen more often.

Faeth ~~~

Congratulations! That is wonderful!

What improvements are happening in your real life outside of the raw numbers?

Are you feeling more energy? How do you feel compared to how you felt before?
Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.

Well I'm not taking naps anymore/sleeping mid day. I now have a decent bedtime though my wake up time still fluctuates a bit from time to time usually I like to get up about 9am - 10 am. I also found out I'm what is known as a Long sleeperhttp://sleepeducation.org/news/2017/04/ ... g-sleepers
So I'm much more laid back with myself I don't try and force myself to get 8 hours or less of sleep anymore. I just slate 12 hours and if I don't use all 12 hours then so much the better.

Well I'm doing much better now. I have alot more energy than I did before even in spite of some of my medications making me sleepy.

Before my Cpap machine I was literally a walking zombie. I couldn't think hardly, often times what I said didn't make much sence. It was bad I had lived like that for over a decade. I first suspected that I had Sleep Apnea back in 2004 however the test came up negative. I think it was a false negative honestly. I finally got my Cpap machine in January of 2018. That's a long time to not get any quality sleep let me tell you.

I can't even stand to sleep without it, I got very sick about 3 days back vomiting it wasn't pretty, so I decided that while I was still nauseous I wasn't going to use my cpap so I didn't vomit and choke myself on my own vomit much less have a huge mess to clean up because I couldn't get to the potty fast enough. I tried for hours to get to sleep but my mouth kept getting really dry even more so that it gets when I'm using the Cpap. I use the Xyliomelts they work wonders for dry mouth in a Cpap setting. I highly recommend them. So initially I went and used a couple xyliomelts and that didn't really help much for some reason, I think it was because I didn't swollow enough to spread the medicine around my mouth. The hummidity helps get the melts to melt I think. Finally hours after I went to bed, my stomach finally calmed down and I was able to put my Cpap on and get some sleep. The vomiting was do to a Nasty Migrane that I had for 3 days.

I LOVE my CPAP!!!! I can't say that enough. I LOVE MY CPAP!!!
