WooHoo! One week cpap!

Post by stoverquill » Mon Nov 27, 2006 9:53 am

I made it, one week last night on auto cpap.

Wasn't too sure if I felt better, but I caught myself humming a tune while sweeping the floor. Now, THAT is not normal! Not only do I dread sweeping, but I can't remember the last time I hummed through the task instead of grumble, sigh, grrr.

Still having trouble with rain-out. Covered my hose and turned down the humidifier. Still drowning @ 2:30am. Trying to talk dh into the heated hose

All in all, not bad...getting along with my mask, M not leaking or too noisy, haven't strangled myself on the hose, and husband still thinks i'm beautiful...a beautiful fighter jet pilot...but beautiful none the less!

Think I'll make it!

Trina, you're doing great. Sounds like both you and your husband have the right attitude.

Abnormal sweeping behavior as indicator of cpap effectivity...

Fighter pilots in the bedroom...

Drowning on dry beds....

Who woulda thunk cpap would be fun?

Congratulations!

Way to go, Trina! Great to see results so soon.

You and I got our autos at the same time (tho' I've been on CPAP for years).
It's funny, I've switched mine to CPAP mode, and it's lowered my AHI significantly. I'm going to keep it on CPAP for a few more days and then switch back to auto mode to see if it makes a difference.

oldgearhead, rested gal: Thanks!!!

rustynail: happy dance here too!!

ozij: LOL

ZPAP: My Doc wants me on auto for 30 day. My sleep lab experiences were...well...experiences So far my 90% has been 9 to 9.5 My DME did not set up so that I could see my AHI and I have no idea how to set that.

Still waiting on those dreams!!

rain out

Post by Sleepin » Mon Nov 27, 2006 11:44 pm

Have you tried putting the cpap unit afoot lower than your bed? This should take care of the rain out.. Congrats on your milestone!! Keep up the good work!

to see your AHI stats:

Open the little door, press the right -> arrow key, continue to press it to display your 7-day and 30-day results. It should display AHI, 90% pressure used, mask leak, session data etc. You can press the On/Off button to go back to the normal display.

Snoredog, I used the arrows but did not get AHI or leak info. I did get session info and 90% pressure info. Does my DME need to set to allow me to see AHI and leak?

Last night was my first night with the heated hose and NO RAINOUT at all this morning. None. Zilch. Prior to this, I bet I had a few tablespoons of water in my mask every morning. Eww.

Ain't it nice...that Aussie heated hose! Glad it's working so well for you, Kimberly.

It's one of the few cpap items that flat out does what it's advertised to do, in almost every case. Quite a clever invention by the Sleepzone.com.au folks.
