Resmed 10 nasal pillow for her alternative attachments?

Post by Modapa » Mon Apr 15, 2019 5:56 pm

I am using a nasal pillow and the band that attaches it around my head doesn't stay on very well. My hair is very fine and the lower half slides up to the top of my head all the time causing leaks. I've tried putting it under my hair but that doesn't always work either. If I make it any tighter, it will just slide up easier. Is there an alternate band that can be used with the pillow?

thanks!

You might try going to your local pharmacy and getting a roll of self-adhering elastic bandage wrap. The name brand is Coban, but some pharmacies will have a store brand as well. Cut a length of it the length of the two parts of the back of the headgear and wrap them around - like a hotdog bun, if that makes sense. The Coban shouldn't stick to your hair, but should be just tacky enough to help with the strap riding up your head.

Alternatively, you could use Vetwrap from tractor supply.
Available in so many pretty colors--and way cheaper.
I sewed a small piece of hook side Velcro to the inside back of the slithery strap.

Thanks for the tips. I was hoping that Resmed made a better replacement but I haven't found one. One of these options might work.

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure, but they're probably the same thing. If you have an animal supply store nearby, it probably is cheaper. I used to buy it in bulk from an animal supply store near here back in my ball playing days. It makes good bat wrap.

Try sewing a piece of hook tape (Velcro) inside the band so the little hooks face your hair. It sounds uncomfortable but it's not and may stop the sliding.

Some people just staple the velcro strip in--but then you may have sharp ends that catch on the bedding. And I don't like the self-stick version--the adhesive may not hold and you end up with sticky mess in your hair.
