Resmed N30i Nasal Pillow Options

Post by seattlepap » Mon Apr 08, 2019 10:07 pm

I changed to an N30i Resmed mask last week. I've enjoyed the mask, but i'm finding that throughout the night, the nasal cradle cushion gets moved off of my face. Unlike the more traditional masks, there's no pillows there to anchor it in place.

Are there any options to find nasal pillows that will work for the thing? I just bought the mask and I don't want to waste another $100 changing to the Respironics mask.

Any ideas?

There is a new version of this mask. P30i which has nasal pillows similar to the P10 style. These pillows will fit the N30i frame so all you need to buy is the P30i pillow in the correct size. Unfortunately these appear to only be available in Australia/New Zealand at the moment.

Thanks. Looks like it was just announced for the US. I'll have to wait until some of the DME's get the availability. Thanks for your post.

I actually have a thread on this. I have been blowing up Resmed's Facebook for the pillows. I am so excited to hear that it's FINALLY in the US!!! The n30i is a great frame and I like the quiet exhaust (as compared to my Dreamwear) but hate cushions as well.

I just read that the p30i will be available on Monday! Woohoo!!!

Yes, ordering the P30i right now from our sponsor. Says that it has diffused venting, I'm definitely ready for that after putting up with the Swift FX air stream for several years *smile*.

Assuming that there will be a review thread at some point. May already be, but I haven't found it yet.

No one has the P30i nasal pillows that I know of that are members here on the forum.
Supposedly just recently made available in the US and it's going to be a few days before people can order it and use it and report on it.
So no reviews yet....but probably won't be very long.

Yes, I ordered it yesterday after getting the email announcement, and am expecting it maybe on April 19. Got a back-order email this morning, mentioning April 19 instead of the original April 18. So maybe this week *smile*. Thought there might be some Australian user reviews, or people that paid the premium to get it from there on this forum. But, as you say, there aren't any advanced reviews this time.

Update: just got notice that the P30i has shipped.

It looks like several vendors have the P30i now and, if you already have the N30i frame, you can get just the pillows for around $30.

Just got the P30i today, looking forward to trying it tonight. The venting is diffuse enough, different than the P10, but very similar in effect. Seems comfortable and quiet enough.

We'll see.

Could you verify if the sizing (L, M, S) for a P10 matches the sizing for the p30i. It makes sense that they do, but you never know.

Re: Resmed N30i Nasal Pillow Options/ First use of P30i

Can't say much about sizing for others. I'm pretty much a Medium all the way. Medium Swift FX, medium AirFit P10, and medium AirFit P30i. They're not exactly the same, but close enough that it works for me. You do get a fit pack with the P30i, all 3 sizes, and the sizing seems most similar to the P10, and the pillows are like the P10 pillows. Same family, I guess.

By the way, used the P30i for the first time last night. Mixed blessings...about the same noise level as the Swift FX without having to worry where the vent was aimed, that was nice. More headgear than I'm used to, that will take some getting used to, but much more stable than the P10 of course. No strap marks in the morning, as well *smile*. It had slid up the back of my head when I first woke up after about 4 hours, and the leak figure was about 20, very high for me. Tightened the headgear some, and slept for about 3 more hours and the leak figure for the whole night went down to about 12. So I need to pay attention to not having it slide up. Maybe a little tighter than where I started last night, but not as tight as I made it when I first woke up. If I have to have it too tight, that's a no-go for me. One of the problems that I have with the P10 is that it gets too tight as it slides around during the night.

Anyways, not a bad night, all in all. AHI was pretty normal for me, .4, all centrals. Not that all centrals is unusual for me, that's just the way that last night was. Going to have to adjust to this one, since the diffuse venting is enough to motivate me to work with it *smile*

First night with the "P30i" pillows. Very similar to the P10 ( both medium ) that I use. If anything the P30i medium might seem wider than the P10 version. But fit is still proper. I got a zero leakage report for the night with this new version. Venting with this is as good as it gets. MUCH improved over the N30i version! Like the P10 and Bravida, you really cannot feel the vented air from the nasal pillow. Know that these masks also vent from the top at the hose connection. Like the Dreamwear.

I will spend a few nights with this and do a proper review............
