Re: Cyn's casa de los suenos, weird breathing?
They put me on a new med yesterday called Nortriptyline for neuropathy.. I noticed a weird breathing last night. Is it sleep wake junk or something else to be concerned about.

Re: Cyn's casa de los suenos
It looks like SWJ. You took a couple of deep breaths just before the apnea happened.

To me, it looks like you may be a little over ventilated, and your respiratory drive is cycling up and down, but hard to tell with such a small sample. Not a big deal, though.

Re: Cyn's casa de los suenos
Thank you both.... Here is more.
Let me know if I can format it differently. It was just a really weird pattern all night it seems like. The only settings I've ever played with are the pressure I have not ever changed t min max or any of that stuff. I did take it to my dme appointment a couple of days ago so I might have accidentally changed something. idk.

If it keeps up, then you might try a little less ps. Less ps, less ventilation, less co2 blow-off.

Re: Cyn's casa de los suenos
I switched from a medium n-20 cushion to a small after my dme appointment Monday. Would that have caused this change ? I am at a ps 4. If it does it again tonight I will try ps 3.
Thanks so much !

Re: Cyn's casa de los suenos
I vote for arousal breathing...maybe not totally asleep. Probably a side effect of the medication if what you are seeing is something new to you.
That new med will/can do it....mess with sleep
See the big list here...and it's a big long list
https://www.rxlist.com/nortriptyline-hy ... center.htm
but these stood out to me
anxiety,
restlessness,
insomnia,
because anytime I see this I think " potentially messing with sleep architecture, stages and quality".
Also didn't like spotting this one
fatigue,
I understand the need to take it...to try something for your other problems but all these meds carry their own baggage with them...and sometimes that baggage is also problematic.
It's a SSRI...and they can mess with sleep...doesn't matter that you are taking it for neuropathy instead of depression...potential side effects are the same no matter why you take it.

Ugh. I have felt crappy all day. Confusion is the one that stands out to me. I was at the plumbing store getting parts and definately felt like some things that shouldn't be a problem were. I guess I should give it a few more days but this bites !!Pugsy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 4:48 pmI vote for arousal breathing...maybe not totally asleep. Hahaha. I only used it for a short time and then tossed it. It didn't seem to help me...
Reminds me of the old 80's song. I want a new drug....

Happens to me every time I get wrapped up in a plumbing job. Can't blame *everything* on the meds.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 5:00 pmI was at the plumbing store getting parts and definately felt like some things that shouldn't be a problem were.

Re: Cyn's casa de los suenos
Is the Plumbing Effect the same as the Grocery Store Effect? I went to WalMart today with the intention of getting several things and and soon as I walked through the front door I could only remember one item. I make lists...sometimes...but every time I make a list I forget to bring it.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 8:04 pmdjams wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 6:03 pmHappens to me every time I get wrapped up in a plumbing job. I solved that by taking a picture of my list with my phone. I always have my phone.Pugsy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 20, 2019 8:06 pmIs the Plumbing Effect the same as the Grocery Store Effect? I was in a Walmart store two days ago. A lady behind me in line saw I had a bag of dog food in my cart, and asked if I had a dog.
Since she was stating the obvious, I decided to be difficult and said, "No, I don't have a dog."
When she asked why I had a bag of dog food, I told her I was on a "dog food diet"... and that it was real easy!!! "You just put some kibble in each of your pockets and eat a little when you get hungry... simple Simon!!!" - I told her I lost 15 pounds last year on the same diet!!!
She was very impressed! - - I told her "it was all good" until I ended up in the "intensive care unit" at the hospital!![]()
She asked, "Did you get dog food poisoning?"
I said, "No, not at all! - - I stepped off the curb so sniff a poodles butt and got hit by a car!!!![]()
