my face is breaking out with a red rash help

I have been using my BIPAP full face mask for awhile now and have had breakouts or a rash on my face at first I thought I wasn't properly cleaning my mask. I clean it with a small part of white vinegar and soapy water but that doesn't help I still have the breakouts from time to time not all the time it will heal but after several weeks. I am thinking I could be allergic to the soap and vinegar used to clean my mask is there any other way to kill bacteria and germs besides using soap and vinegar which is causing the breakouts to be worse. Please advice on what to do. Thanks.

Vinegar may be the problem....I would NEVER use vinegar...Baby Shampoo or Dawn....Personally I just use a baby wipe. Any germs are yours, they won't hurt you.

That happened to me when I used dish soap...now all I use is a mask wipe and it works even better.

It's probably the stuff you're cleaning it with. I don't ever clean mine.

You might want to try a lotion for the face. To keep the area moisturized and treated.

I have stopped using vinegar so will see if my face clears up may put some lotion on it or Neosporin and see if that helps heal the rash.

That happened to me when I used dish soap...now all I use is a mask wipe and it works even better.

I have mask wipes but may have to throw them away they smell funny or weird like mildew and I just bought them last part of last year.

may i suggest unscented baby wipes?

they are cheaper.

thank you for the advice I will take you up on the unscented baby wipes and get some soon to clean my mask right now I have nothing to clean my mask with that I am not allergic to.

What about as a temporary fix just soaking it in some super hot water?

Wash mask in mild soap and water. Rinse. Spray with plain old white vinegar to remove the soap residues. Let sit 1 minute, then rinse rinse rinse to get rid of the vinegar. Let air dry.

Wash face to remove facial oils. Apply a very thin layer of Milk of Magnesia where the mask touches your skin, then let air dry before putting the mask on.

I have done that may have to do that from now on. I am skeptical but how vinegar destroys germs it breaks my face out every time or maybe I am not letting my mask dry out properly I don't know but something is breaking me out.

I can not use a plastic type mask. I have been using a Circadiance cloth mask for almost 6 years. No problems at all since I changed.

my Face has cleared up now since I bought and have been using a Mask Liner this protects my face must be allergic to the mask itself this has helped.

I've never had an allergic reaction to my mask (thank goodness) but I do have all kinds of other ridiculous topical reactions to things no one else seems to have? And yet the most common irritants don't bother me.

The answer to all of this stuff (and life in general) ... NEVER GIVE UP!
