I suctioned air out my bum. [update: don't do it]

Post by metallikat36 » Thu Mar 14, 2019 8:54 pm

The scientist in me had a funny idea to combat aerophagia. Attach a syringe to the end of an enema tube and stick it you-know-where. Pull and hold back the syringe and then remove the tube from your backside. The moment this happens, you hear air whoosh out of the enema tube as the pressure in the tube equalizes with the pressure in the room. I used a 20ml syringe, and repeated this process 20 times to remove an estimated 400ml of air form my gut. As I am writing this I do feel gas getting a move on in my gut now and wanting to be passed. I think this actually worked.

I am going to step up to a 300ml syringe next:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/300ML-CC-Large ... 3315273724
I would have bought a 1000ml syringe if I could find one. I do not think a 750ml enema bulb would work for this. I think you need an actual syringe to pull on.

Maybe I'll try removing a liter of air total next. My theoretical safety concerns are as follows:

1. Larger syringes mean less repeated entry and exit with the enema tube, which means less risk of perforation. Hence, avoid use of smaller syringes.
2. I wonder if removing too large of volume of air at once might cause just the bottom-most part of the colon to collapse or something, as it may take time for the pressure to become evenly distributed through the colon. Hence, a theoretical argument to avoid larger syringes. Hmm...

Aside from that, I wonder if this can effectively help get gas out of the small intestines. There is a sphincter between the small an large intestines. Approximately 2 liters of fluid pass through this sphincter in a day. I would surmise that since the sphincter cannot always remain airtight for this passage of food to happen, that creating a lower pressure in the large intestines would indeed help "suck" some excess air in the small intestines out into the large intestines.

This backdoor therapy might synergize with simethicone.

And I await your accusations of being a danger to humanity.

I'm not convinced this is just about getting rid of gas ...

Why not just stick the tube up there and let it vent?

Be sure to flare off the gas, just like oil refineries do. Send pics of your own personal 'eternal flame.' (just the flame, not the production facility, please.)

The barking spiders in my bedroom medigate any aerophagia difficulties.

Not at all. You are a danger only to yourself.

Next time, instead of using a syringe, suck on the enema hose. That way, you'll be just like your post, full of crap.

He may or may not be joking, but there are some difficult subjects that need to be broached on the cpap board. Please refrain from directly shaming. I was willing to accept the jokes as fun, but to me this kind of post is just overboard. People need to talk about sexual dysfunction, farts, bowel discomfort, all sorts of things, and shaming responses are not needed nor wanted.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

Perhaps Dog Slobber tried it & is speaking from his experience that it did not work hence hos response to the OP ;)

If the OP is serious, then it is dangerous.

The risk of perforation or prolapse because of forces applied with a vacuum from a 300ML syringe can be serious.

Why are you defending posts encouraging people perform dangerous procedures on themselves?

Agreed

the scientist in you should realize the proper name is anus. it's a real word. no euphemisms required.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.
