slippery hair problems with headgear

Post by Catnapper » Sat Nov 25, 2006 10:01 am

My hair is silky and very slippery. I cannot keep a barrette in my hair – they just fall out. Same with pony tail scrunchies. Masks slide right up the back of my head in minutes- you would think I have a cone head!! My hair is not long enough for a pony tail, even if I could keep one tied up. I didn't want to use the Velcro on the headgear fix because my hair is very fine and prone to breaking easily.

My solution has been to tie a ribbon on each side of the headgear and tie the ends under my chin, much like a sun bonnet. I think football helmets use something on that same idea for the chin strap except without tying. I will soon head to the sewing machine to make a strap that adjusts with Velcro on the ends where I will loop over the headgear bottom straps. No more ties. Just one strap from the left side, under the chin to the right side. I think it will work for both the Breeze and the Comfortlite 2. I looked through the links but have not seen this solution used, so I thought someone else might find the idea helpful.

Thank you. My mother has this problem so I will pass on this solution to her.
