I like the first avatar Zonker used. He may have quit using it because it was too close of a representation.

it didn't spoil it for me. when looking for an avatar, i was concentrating on zonker p. harris, but couldn't find a pic that i really liked. but screaming yellow zonkers character kept popping up. didn't want to use it.

but given the whole question of why i eat popcorn, then the modified gifs and such, THEN you came up with the winner.

HA! good one. no, really i was looking for a particular early doonesbury strip. in it, zonker has been scolded by b.d., i think. at any rate, he's being told that he's missed his last chance to get his finals done and now faces failure and disgrace. zonker says nothing to counter this barrage. then a still panel of zonker, who's expression has never changed. last panel show zonker with a thought balloon reading "bummer."

for some reason, this absolutely slayed me as a young man. but i could never find that cartoon online.
