My understanding is that there are some anecdotal reports that some who supplemented with vitamin D late in the day were said to experience negative effects on their sleep. The theory was D ingestion late in the day may have interfered with the body's melatonin production cycle. But my understanding is that none of this has been definitively established scientifically, as is the case with much vitamin D theory.
Sometimes vague is wise.

Thanks, I'll have to test my second dose right after work or perhaps a double dose in the morning.
Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"

Another thought is that if we are trying to replace the D that we missed from the sun, the timing may be more natural to supplement at noon...

So far CPAP is proven to be the most effective treatment for OSA by a long shot. If something that's proven to be just as good or better comes along, I'll try it but for now I'll stick with CPAP because it works and has no bad side effects for me.

Keep in mind that the goal is effective sleep.
I define that as waking up restored, rested, and pain free.
CPAP plays an important part in that, but it looks like there may be more...

Update:
I usually am in bed for between 8 and 9 hours. My Fitbit was telling me that I am motionless for a little over 4 of those hours. Over the past couple of weeks my Fitbit is showing that I am motionless for a little over 5.5 hours.
Changes I have made include reducing the amount of B I take and minimizing the amount of blue light exposure just prior to going to bed. I am trying to keep changes to a minimum so I can track what is causing the results.
I have exhausted the amount of information I can get from my Fitbit so am checking my oximeter and CPAP data to see if there is a hit of sleep cycles there. In addition I found a $50 off coupon for the Oura ring, so I ordered one. Unfortunately it takes 9 - 12 weeks for the ring.
The pain I was experiencing in my shoulders and knees is still gone and I no longer have to wake up and stretch and exercise that out. It appears that reducing my B intake is continuing to give me benefit. We have had several storm fronts move through the area and that was when it was most noticeable. Now it appears that pressure changes have no effect on my joints.
I will be traveling for a few weeks. It will be interesting to see if I remain pain free...
