still tired after 4 months
Hi
I'm very compliant with my CPAP and expected to have more energy and be more energetic. I have my Sleepyhead data and I was hoping someone could take a look at it. my pressure is on auto cpap with minimum 7 and max 12. thanks for any help you can give me.

Take any medications of any kind? If so, what?
6 1/2 hours of sleep....is this normally what you average? Do you find that you sleep soundly for the most part or do you wake often?

Re: still tired after 4 months
For me, I never felt any rest for over four years. Mask changes helped a little. I've gotten the best results, though, from taking an antidepressant.
My AHI was always 1 or less.

Re: still tired after 4 months
You had one event where your pressure almost maxed out to treat the event. Increase your maximum pressure to 18 or 20. That way the machine can use whatever pressure it needs to treat an event.

This is my usual average sleep time, yes. I take Klonipin .5-1mg, metoprolol, Lipitor at bedtime. These are for a Cardiac stent and fibromyalgia.
Most of the time I feel like I sleep soundly.

Do you have any issues with restless legs or periodic limb movements?

Re: still tired after 4 months
You may simply need more than 6 1/2 hours of sleep...and yes, I know that is easier said than done in a lot of situations.
You may also be having some unwanted side effects due to all 3 of your medications.
Google the side effects for all three (look at multiple resources)....fatigue, lack of energy, drowsiness, sleep problems...all are known side effect which can impact how you feel during the day.
I am not saying that meds are 100% of your problem but they can sure be a factor.
This happens often...people on meds that cause unwanted symptoms that are also associated with sleep apnea and they go on cpap and have good looking reports and still feel like crap.
The cpap machine can't fix a problem related to medication side effects no matter how much we want to blame sleep apnea for all our unwanted symptoms.
I have this issue myself....I take a BP medication that lists 3 side effects that particularly might impact me....fatigue, insomnia and back pain. The back pain thing...that was the real surprise for me. I have a bad back (arthritis pretty bad) and it never dawned on me that my medication might be also adding to the back issues...and the back issues greatly impact my sleep quality so that I don't sleep so great and never get enough hours of sleep.

Re: still tired after 4 months
No restless legs, but in my sleep study I had some periodic limb movements. I’m not aware of it though.

Do you have a copy of your study that you could give us the exact language surrounding the limb movements?
