Software and reader for Resmed Elite

Post by gsacca » Wed Nov 22, 2006 6:52 pm

I just received my Resmed Elite and Hybrid mask today and asked about accessing the software and was told that it is not only not allowed for a patient to see, but also unethical! Everything I have read on these boards tells me this is not true, but the DME would not budge. She also would not let me have any access to the data on the machine. I put a call in to my doctor, but he never returned my call.
What do I have to do to get MY information?

When I asked about getting the software (AutoScan for my ResMed S8 Vantage) so I could monitor my progress myself, the technician at my sleep doctors freaked a little. She freaked a little more when I explained I'd already discovered how to get into "clinician mode" to check my AHI in the morning.

I asked my sleep doctor about it, and while he wouldn't hook me up with the software he did write me a prescription so I could take my data card in whenever I wanted and they'd share the data with me.

I've got a reader now and can dump the data off the card easily enough, but cracking the format is going to be a challenge.

She told me that the reason she won't let me have access is that I would be "likely" to change my settings! I tried to explain that I am not looking to change my settings, just monitor my own progress. She looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I knew it was possible to see the data on the machine and told me absolutely not.
This DME has not been helpful at all and didn't even know about the Hybrid mask. I had to fight just to get her to agree to get one in for me to try because I am claustrophobic, but needed the ffm. My doctor pushed her to do that for me because I threatened to go online to purchase what I felt I wanted. I had no say in the machine, I wasn't about to let her decide on the mask.
I don't understand what the big secret is and I refuse to run back and forth to bring the card in for her to read. I don't have much faith in her as it is!

She does not want you to know that she has no clothes on

If patients learn to monitor and adjust their own treatment (which they should) ... then the certificate on their wall (that they paid so much money for) becomes worthless and they lose their leverage to demand unrealistic salaries.

Actually, my DME is a nice person ... especially when it comes to letting me try out masks. When it comes to self monitoring and adjusting treatment she does freak ... so I just don't talk to her about those issues.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

Data

Since we all know that our doctors and techs know FAR better than we do what's good for us, you SHOULDN'T hold down the left and right keys for three seconds until your ResMed begins to display Pressure, leak, AHI, AI and HI on its LCD screen in user-selectable nightly, weekly, monthly, six-monthly and yearly averages. Also, you ABSOLUTELY SHOULDN'T hold down the down and right keys for three seconds until your ResMed gives you access to its "clinical menu" to allow you to view (and perhaps even adjust) your machine's settings.

Just a word to the wise.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
