Anyone ever had green pus pockets around the nose from wearing the mask? Sore as can be and show up every few days ?
Could this reaction be part of what is going on with inside of nose, throat, lung ?
Should I let the "DME" know this is a continued problem Monday ?

If they are where the mask puts pressure across the bridge and side of nose, I'd be concerned about pressure sores. Had that happen to me. I would not play around with anything infectious near the sinuses, thus the brain. Maybe you can explore using a nasal pillows style or if a full face is needed, maybe a hybrid style mask that has nothing on the bridge of the nose. If your issue is a skin reaction to the materials the mask is made from, have you tried a mask liner? And yes, I would call the doctor. Doesn't sound like a good idea to keep irritating the area.

DME certainly can't help with medical issues.....(Many can't even help with CPAP issues)

I already expressed my concerns about the nosebleeds, lung sore, throat killing me at times, etc to the pulmonoligist and got "I don't care", so went to regular doctor and found out everything was basically irritated and pnumonitius in right lung making it hurt, start coughing up green and decide to get off CPAP a week.. trying to get back on it, and bam.. the sores are back. (Along with right ribs/lung killing me, throat hurting more)kteague wrote: ↑Sat Feb 09, 2019 6:09 pmIf they are where the mask puts pressure across the bridge and side of nose, I'd be concerned about pressure sores. At this point I decided to try ENT about the runny nose, throat killing me, etc part. The regular doctor said the pulmologist is being a specialist, since all I was sent to him for was sleep is why he doesn't want the hear the complications I've been having and he's waiting around for him or some other medical staff to tell him the machine is making these problems. That's still not good enough for me to hear "I don't care" .

I don't know enough about your situation to be of much help. Just wondering if you have experimented with your humidification to see if it could be causing problems. When you say sore lungs, could it be the soreness one feels in the rib areas when newly using CPAP (or returning to use)? If so, that should resolve. Took me a week or two to resolve. Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble getting satisfactory answers to your issues.

I am extremely sensitive to silicone which is what my full face mask is made of and broke out something fierce wherever it touched my skin. I solved the problem by covering the silicone with moleskin. Overnight success. Do you think you might have the same sensitivity to your mask?
