Help Interpreting SleepyHead

Post by Padron192664 » Thu Jan 31, 2019 7:34 am

I was diagnosed with UARS. My presure prescribed was 5 (with a in lab titration). Looks maybe like I should raise the max pressure of 6? I'm also worried about mouth breathing, anything to indicate that? Also woke up very stuffy, I went from max water level to below the last line. Do I maybe have humidifier set to high? I have a Resmed Airsense Autoset set at 80 auto last night.

Can someone help me with images? I thought I downloaded it to imgr properly but not sure

Yes...the machine wanted to go higher but couldn't. I would raise the maximum.

I see no evidence of mouth breathing being enough to impact the leak report. You have some very short brief spikes in the leak line.
We don't have any way to know if it was a brief exit out the mouth or just mask movement.
Either way....not enough to impact therapy itself.

Now if those little leaks wake you up....they need to be worked on but just from a sleep disturbance aspect and not from a therapy aspect. What little leaks you are having are well within the machine's ability to compensate for them.

To embed the image so we don't have to click on the link you have to log in to your imgur account and then select the image you wish to share and a little box on the right will pop up that has a bunch of addresses in it for various ways of sharing your image.

Click on Large Thumbnail first....then copy the last line at the bottom of all those addresses and paste it in the body of your text.
Click on preview to see what it will look like...then submit.
If you do it this way we see a manageable sized image to start with and if we need to enlarge it we can click on it and make it bigger.

Thanks Pugsy. That was my problem, I didn't login into the imgur account.

It seems like too little or too high humidity can cause congestion. Is that correct? Its pretty personal it seems. Just got to experiment I guess.

It was cold here last night, single digits. Maybe I need to bump it up to 86F cause 80F left me congested in the morning

Yes...humidity needs vary a lot between cpap users. I want maximum humidity and if I don't get it I get nasal congestion issues and allergy attack symptoms.
The next person might get the same symptoms if they use too much humidity.
I have known households where both husband and wife are on cpap and one needs maximum humidity and the other prefers little to none added humidity.

You need to understand that the hose air temp has nothing to do with the humidity being delivered...the 2 settings are totally separate.

Right now the humidity is set to Auto level...and hose air temp is separate. Auto level is equal to about a 4 if looking at how it compares to manual humidity selection. So If you want more humidity you have to change the auto humidity to manual humidity and pick something like 5 or 6 and see if that helps with the stuffiness or makes it worse.

Increasing or decreasing the hose air temp doesn't change the humidity being delivered.

Would you potentially get headaches if the humidity was set too low or high?

It seems that humidity can trigger headaches...

I think higher is more of an issue than lower.

Some new graphs. Still waking up and second half of night is light fragmented sleep but figured this might take some time plus a lot of discipline to fix since Ive only been on xpap for 2 weeks now. This was the main problem before xpap and why I began therapy again. I would wake up after 5/5.5 hours every night without fail and be awake the rest of the night.(tried sleep restriction of 6 hours for a month but didnt seem to do anything) Seemed liked my body/brain didnt want me to go back to sleep. I usually go to bed around midnight but this week Ive been falling asleep in my recliner at 10 (or earlier) w/o my machine, which is bad I know. I need to condense my sleep a bit I think. I added tape because I think my mouth was opening letting a little pressure out but not enough to cause high leaks but enough to irritate my throat and dry mouth. Past 2 nights that ive used tape I havent had this problem so thats good I guess. Figure it takes some time (as long as I'm at the right pressure) for my brain/body to feel "safe" sleeping. Not waking up like a freight train hit me but still have the brain fog. I settled on a pressure range of 9-11. Thought I stay at this range for a week and see how it goes unless someone here thinks otherwise. If I need to zoom in on any parts of the night and provide more pictures let me know since any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

That's the quick shortcut. I think there's checkboxes somewhere in the menu structure too.

Next time you talk to Mark maybe suggest a more intuitive way of configing the screen. Maybe have him talk to Pugsy.

Yeah right. When hell freezes over maybe.  Mark doesn't want my input or he would have asked me years ago and for sure he isn't going to listen to PR.

I have a feeling if we asked for anything it would be the first thing on the "to be axed" list.
