Nasal Pillow Irritation

Post by Padron192664 » Thu Feb 07, 2019 7:48 am

I'm using Swift LT nasal pillows, large, and I'm experiencing redness (not sore) of the outer portion of my nostril and slight soreness on the inner portion of the nostril mainly from side sleeping it seems and the pillow must pull or scrunch? Any tips or products that will relieve the redness and soreness.

Lansinoh Lanolin it's used by breastfeeding mothers for sore, cracked nipples. Available on amazon and Healthcare stores.

I second the recommendation for Lansinoh.

Also....as a preventative you might look at a barrel cozy.

Finally review your fitting because no mask should be causing skin abrasions under any circumstances when properly sized and fitted.

As both Dog Slobber and Pugsy suggested. I had the same problem I picked up Lansinoh Lanolin, end of problem.

Thanks all 3 for your help.

My machine is on the floor (on my right side). I prefer to sleep on my left side and I think the hose pulls the mask pillows cause I don't have enough hose. Its the bottom fleshy part of inner nostril that is sore. Don't seem to have the issue if I sleep on my right side. Guess I have to play with mask fit and machine location.....Thanks

It is especially important to identify a cold sore in the earliest stages,
and treat accordingly.
Antivirals can bring the nasty to a screeching halt.

Get a step stool and put machine on that. On the floor, it's sucking up all the floor junk. I used one like this for years https://smile.amazon.com/Rubbermaid-Sto ... 05MVDG3VE3
ResMed S9 range 9.8-17, RespCare Hybrid FFM
Never, never, never, never say never.

Doesn't instill a lot of confidence in buying a medical product from that person does it? Even grosses me out and I am not easily grossed out.
We know he's a smoker and lives in a pig pen. Yuck.
