Lanolin helps. though I've been known to use a thin layer of neosporin in between blowings when I've got a bad cold.

Re: Ila Truman's Therapy Thread
Alright, first night with an auto of 8 to 20 complete! It looks like I didn't go above 11 all night and spent most of my time around nine or tenish. My 90% pressure was 10.06.

Re: Titration study says I need 5 cm H2O pressure
Looking pretty darn good.
How do you think you slept last night and feel today?
That little bit of large leak...might have been mask movement...might have been open mouth leaking (if you are still using the nasal mask) but the machine can handle that little bit into large leak territory...now if it woke you up...then we worry a little more about it but from the standpoint of it disturbing your sleep.
I would just watch things right now in that area and wouldn't worry much about it.
It's about 20 minutes out of the entire night...and not the end of the world. I have gladly been happy with worse.

Re: Titration study says I need 5 cm H2O pressure
I feel like I slept pretty well! We’ll see how the next few nights go.
the leak didn’t bother me - I don’t think so anyway. I woke up once and felt the nasal pillows leaking a bit but I don’t know if that’s what woke me.

90% pressure really means nothing.

It's just a number.
The chart (and it's pressure line) look good though

Re: Ila Truman's Therapy Thread
It just helped me realize that I don’t need a super high pressure like say, 18 if I’m staying at or below 10 most of the night.palerider wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 2:31 pm90% pressure really means nothing.

Re: Ila Truman's Therapy Thread
Pugsy's 90% pressure is something like 18, her *average pressure is something like 7 or 8. (iirc), cuz she just needs high pressure for her REM cycles...ilatruman wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 6:46 pmIt just helped me realize that I don’t need a super high pressure like say, 18 if I’m staying at or below 10 most of the night.palerider wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 2:31 pm90% pressure really means nothing.

Now, ignorant people would say "NO NO! your 90% pressure is 18, you need to set your min up to 16 or 17!!!!!!" because they don't know how to interpret a pressure curve.

Re: Titration study says I need 5 cm H2O pressure
Looking at that chart, it appears if you knocked your min up to 9cm, it might kill all of those FLs and not go any higher. Your chart looks good to me, for what it's worth.

Re: Titration study says I need 5 cm H2O pressure
Thanks for the tip! I may try putting it up to 9 tonight (my minimum).
Here is my second night APAP 8-20. Lots of leaks but I don't remember them waking me up.

That's an important aspect... not being disturbed by them... maybe the most important aspect.

Re: Titration study says I need 5 cm H2O pressure
Your leaks are clearly happening when your pressure ramps up. Another reason to try and kill off the flow limitations in the first place with a higher minimum. No FLs,....no reason for your machine to ramp your pressure and cause leaks. You may want to go to 8.5, then 9, etc. Try and find the lowest minimum that will stop the majority of the FLs, as shown on the graph.
As I have been told here,.....those leaks at that level don't matter unless they are waking you up.

Re: Titration study says I need 5 cm H2O pressure
Last night. Leaks at the end were definitely mouth breathing. I woke up with a mouth as dry as a desert... Woke up exhausted today, but ended up having a migraine so it could have been the lead up to that. But generally, so far CPAP helps me sleep more solidly with less waking up through the night, but overall doesn't seem to be making a difference in my fatigue, which is unfortunate. I'm waiting it out though, hoping optimal pressure settings will help.
