New ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and Sleepyhead
I went to my local DME to pickup a new Dreamstation but after comparing machines I got the ResMed Autoset 10 For Her with the heated humidifier and the the climate line hose. Got it set up but have not tried yet. It is set with the same levels as my old Respironics so it will be interesting to see my morning results. I assume I can just put the new card in for Sleepyhead and be recognized or should I transfer my five year old Respironics card continue using that?

The new card should be fine. Sleepyhead may get confused with 2 different machine data sets on the same card. I believe they would both appear in the same SleepyHead profile.

Thanks, I was worried about that. Sleepyhead should just add the new card to its list.
Re: New ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and Sleepyhead
You could probably use the same card but SleepyHead might not be able to know which set of data to download.
Meaning as long as the data from the Respironics was already downloaded in SH and then you stuck it in the ResMed machine (which it wouldn't care) and then SH might know to look for the most recent data....but again it might get confused.
I have System One data on a card that I use in my AirSense but SH doesn't look at it because it is old data.
The AirSense doesn't care one way or the other and I don't think SleepyHead will care but I can't say for absolute certainty in your situation. Since you have a new card...I would just use it and that way you know for sure.
But if curious...you could always give it a try with the old card and see what happens. I have been known to do that just to see if I could.
You can for sure use the same SH user profile without there being a problem. Right now I have 4 different machines under one profile in my SleepyHead and the only reason I don't have more is when I put SH on this laptop I didn't bother to copy the data from the old computer into this SH version. Didn't really want it or need it so didn't bother doing the extra work and if I ever just have to see that old data..it's on the old computer.

Thanks Pugsy, I am going to use the new card. My original card could fail of old age before I do

Re: New ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and Sleepyhead
Do let me know how you compare the Resmed APAP to the Respironics APAP.
I have used both...I learned I can use lower minimum pressure with the ResMed and more exhale relief and still get better results than I got with higher minimums with the Respironics.
Just curious to see how you do and how you like it.

Re: New ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and Sleepyhead
Well so far I don't like it a lot. The climate line hose froze my nose. They set me up at the DME so I left it there to try last night. My dear old Respironics has a dial on top to adjust the temperature and a preheat button. It seems like I have to open the menu stare at the tiny screen (and not wake my husband) to make any adjustment. Is it possible to set a base temperature and use the knob to change. Our heat turns way down at night and I often adjust the hose temperature. When I felt the hose last night it was cool every time. Am I misunderstanding how the hose works? I have been reading but its not helping.

Pugsy, I forgot about the pressure! It felt weird when I went to bed exhale was difficult and not much air on inhale. I decided to try for a while and fell asleep. morning was not as uncomfortable but am going to adjust after I get the hose adjusted.

Yes...most definitely but you may have to go into the setup menu area and unlock it.Islandwoman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 5:01 pmIs it possible to set a base temperature and use the knob to change.
You have to set hose temp to manual...then you can adjust by temperature on the fly without going into the menu.
All you have to do is turn the knob to warm up the air.
They may have set things to auto...and auto works great until the bedroom temp starts getting low and then its useless (been there and one that).
Set both humidity and hose temp to manual if you find the settings to auto...then adjust humidity and hose temp per what you are comfortable with. The setting of 4 for humidity is about 80 to 85%....equal to about a 2 on the Respironics humidity when there are 3 choices. It's a good middle of the road setting to start with. I use a humidity level of 6....I like lots of moisture but with that much moisture I need 86 degrees to prevent rain out since my bedroom gets cold at night (low 60s and sometimes into the 50s). In the summer I turn the hose air heat temp almost to off.

Did you have EPR turned on? If you did..at what setting?
If you didn't...turn it on and play with all the 3 settings available and pick the one that is simply more comfortable.
And ramp...don't use ramp and you have to turn it off in the menu setup area.
Ramp automatically starts at 4 cm and isn't so easy to breathe with for most people and EPR can't do anything even if turned on because it can't drop below 4 cm.

I don't use ramp but don't know what EPR is. I will look for it. I am waiting for the clinical manual to be emailed.

You should get it via email from the auto response set up at the apneaboard.

Re: New ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and Sleepyhead
i must be reading this wrong. i have my temp set to 83 per the clinical menu. i have the type set to manual per the clinical menu. i back out.Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 5:11 pmYes...most definitely but you may have to go into the setup menu area and unlock it.Islandwoman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 5:01 pmIs it possible to set a base temperature and use the knob to change.
You have to set hose temp to manual...then you can adjust by temperature on the fly without going into the menu.
All you have to do is turn the knob to warm up the air.
now to manually increase the temp, i have to first go into "my options", scroll down to "tube temp" and THEN use the knob to change my temp manually.
do i have that right? because it seems, from what you typed, that i just need to turn the knob.
have i missed something?

Re: New ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for Her and Sleepyhead
Just go turn the knob without doing anything....or going anywhere...see what happens on the LCD screen.
If nothing happens...let me go fire up my machine and see if I am missing a step.
