Aircurve 10 ASV Heated hose???

Post by bwexler » Thu Jan 03, 2019 3:02 pm

Has anyone noticed the Aircurve 10 ASV Heated hose is much stiffer than the heated hose from Phillips?

Is there a way to soften it up a bit?

Thanks for letting me know about my interesting query.

I actually had 2 questions. Is the dishwasher safe water chamber for the Aircurve worth getting over the standard.?

The what?

I've softened up other hoses by popping them in the dryer for a minute and a half or so.

I would never get the dishwasher safe water reservoir. I clean ours by hand once a month.

I, too, have the AirCurve ASV 10 and use a heated tube with humidification. Since this is my first setup, I can't compare it to other setups. I was given the standard hose at first and the heated tube doesn't appear to be that much more stiff than the standard tubing. I do like that the heated tubing starts with a 90 degree bend at the back of the machine. It makes for a much easier fit for my machine in my headboard.

I am using the reservoir that came with my machine. I assume it's not dishwasher safe, but have had no issues using distilled water every night and air drying it every day. I'm just over my 2 month mark and have no odor or signs of any buildup in the reservoir. Now I do live in a very dry climate here at 6000' elevation in Colorado. I'm guessing the humidity here averages less than 30% most the year and probably even lower while running a furnace during the winter months...which is why I opted for the heated tubing. By morning I usually have very little water left in my reservoir after filling it to the max mark each night.
