so how would the conversation with a doctor go?
Beats me....the doctor should bring up alternatives because what is currently going on is painfully inadequate.
If he doesn't then he is a piss poor doctor.
Doctor's are NOT Gods despite how they might feel about themselves or the pedestals people put them on.
Doctors and DMES...they all work for us and just like any employee who doesn't do a good job...they can be fired and we go hire another someone who can maybe to a better job.
And yes...really good employees can be difficult to find but they are out there.

If money permits (your pocketbook is padded enough with wads of dollar bills) you can always say "go screw 'em" and do your own thing.

I had a really crappy doctor and I'm looking for a new one, but not trying that hard. I might have to just buy the equipment myself.

Here is Thursday nights chart. It was much better than I've had for the past month.

Okay, thanks to LSAT I was able to get a ResMed Aircurve 10 VAUTO. I am using it at pretty much default settings except I raised the EPAP to just under where I had my Dreamstation set to see what the new machine would do. IMHO the charts look better so far and I haven't gotten down to tuning the settings yet and from my knowledge it looks like I need a setting of around 19 EPAP and 23 IPAP to handle most of the remaining events. Is there any other settings that might be better, I'm not familiar with this machines capabilities yet?

What say you experts?

I just wanted to say that you made the right move. Also agree that you charts look MUCH better! With room for improvement.

I've no business giving any settings advice here.

The future looks bright! :D

Try minimum EPAP 16 instead of 14...leave everything else the same.
For your next image you share...don't zoom in...do the overall big picture and include the Flow Limitation graph.
I think you are likely going to be able to get by with less than the 19 EPAP min you were thinking.

Thanks guys. I thought I'd share the zoomed in version of that cluster and the next one because to me it was very interesting where as the rest of the night was mostly uninteresting and tells most of the same story. The machine sees events and ramped up pressure to compensate which it does a much better job at then my old machine.

Here's the full night's data.

I'll move the pressure to 16.

I suspect you were either on your back during those little clusters or maybe REM related...hard to know for sure.
The 2:45 cluster which is the biggest might have been REM ...sure fits the time frame for it.
Doesn't matter though...REM or on your back...let the machine sort it out with just a little more minimum and you will be fine.

I've been using my newly acquired BiPaP for about two months now and thought I would update with my charts. I think I've improved a lot and want to thank you all here on the board. This support group is awesome :P
