ResMed Escape Auto Set for her
ResMed Escape Auto Set for her
just wanted to see if I could get some feedback on buying one of these units used. I am new to the forum , however I have been reading posts on here for about 2 weeks before I just recently joined. I am taking my therapy into my own hands. I have all the symptoms of apnea ...however im a single father with low income and unfortunately only have catastrophic type health insurance so wont be getting any help there. Sleep study in lab runs about $800 and the "at home" test runs about 250, I was just told the at home is not very reliable/accurate. hoping I can get a machine and the SH software and start self therapy and get myself going in the right direction. thanks in advance for any helpful info. Also I have found this unit for $175 used locally...still waiting to see how many hours on it and a model number but its for sure a escape auto set for her model.
happy new year to all

Re: ResMed Escape Auto Set for her
You definite want to get an Auto adjusting unit, especially if you are self-managing your own therapy.
I Like Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet or Resmed Airsense AutoSet for Her.
*EDIT* posted inaccurate info - fixed

Re: ResMed Escape Auto Set for her
Actually there is the ResMed S9 Escape Auto....but no for Her model in any Escape model.
I wouldn't advise anyone going the DIY route to get any ResMed S9 machine with Escape as part of the model name. While the Escape Auto does have auto adjusting pressures...it lacks any data details that might be needed and it uses the old algorithm which can't identify centrals. I wouldn't want it if it were free for what you are wanting to do with it. Now for a back up machine or travel machine it would be fine but not for your needs.
The S9 AutoSet for Her model...which is PINK...easy to spot...and it only was available in the S9 AutoSet. Is a full data machine and would be a good choice if the money was right for a DIYer.
So....confirm exactly which model you are looking at.
There is no such thing as the S9 Escape AutoSet for Her....there is the S9 Escape Auto...but it won't do the things you are going to need to want to do at this time.

S9 Escape Auto
https://www.resmed.com/ap/en/healthcare ... -auto.html
S9 AutoSet for Her that is an ugly pink
https://www.resmed.com/us/en/healthcare ... r-her.html
2 totally different machines with 2 totally different algorithms for the auto adjusting mode.
The ugly pink model...a good machine for a DIYer.
the Escape...not good for a DIYer.

Send forum member LSAT a private message...sometimes he has some good deals on gently used AirSense 10 AutoSet machines.
Grayghost4 also is known to sometimes have some.

ResMed Escape Auto Set for her
First, and foremost, you need to not just throw words together, there's no such thing as a "ResMed Escape Auto Set for her".
Here's a list of machines:
wiki/index.php/CPAP_models
If you're going to buy something, make absolutely sure it's Full Data, and preferably an auto.
Get OSCAR
Accounts to put on the foe list: dataq1, clownbell, gearchange, lynninnj, mper!?, DreamDiver, Geer1, almostadoctor, sleepgeek, ajack, stom, mogy, D.H., They often post misleading, timewasting stuff.

I will be looking for the airsense 10 autoset model then
thanks for everyones time and information.
Re: ResMed Escape Auto Set for her
that one or the AIrSense 10 AutoSet for Her model would be a good DIYer machine to try. It's going to cost more money but it is money well spent and will end up giving you the best chance of isolating and fixing your problem.
And don't worry about the original mislabeling....it happens all the time because people selling these machines don't have a clue what they are selling. We wouldn't expect you to know that the seller was an idiot.
