Well thanks for the happy dance! Pretty much how I felt once I started realizing how good I feel today.
ain't that just the way this therapy goes some times? it can be a subtle thing that comes up on you. and it can just be a small tweak that does it.

no, not trying to jinx you! i know that it takes more than one night to make a trend. just hoping it continues.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

but i can see why you would want to do it. there was someone earlier this year who was aghast at what some members put on their heads in order to sleep. palerider agreed. he said he put on his pillows and went to sleep. lucky guy!
I said that? musta been a moment of more insanity than usual.
oh? well, maybe it was some other little red devil! :)

no i could jolly well be mistaken. just read it and attributed it to you. i read SO much on here and a lot of it slips through my memory. then it'll hit a few days later what i read. by that time, i can't seem to find the conversation at all!

who, me? crazy? not at all....

Palerider, you've got to realize there are those of us out here who hang on your every word...

Haha - well, I remembered the "drop them on the pillows" comment. Super casual, "nothin' to this" - calming an anxious newbie speak. I searched by that phrase, and posts by PR. There was only one. :)

You should be. I didn't start reading that thread until it was near the end and winding down. My recollection isn't nearly as impressive.

Well, in all fairness, I was slightly oversimplifying it to someone who was acting like this whole cpap thing was the end of the world for them.

Anyone got photos or video of someone with the scunci adapted to fit their gear?

brace yourself!-

not really adapted at all. in fact, as i mentioned before, i don't even cut ear holes. i use two instead of one. the top is scunci, the bottom is goody. goody has a smaller circumference, which works better for me.

then i add the elastic band. all of this is soft yet at the same time it's snug.

hope this helps and that i didn't frighten you too much!!

OH! you said "with gear". i use P 10 so it just rests at the end of my nose, so again, no adapting needed.

Thanks! This really clears things up. Thank you for bravely posting. I'm in good company if this is the 'scary gear' committee.
I'm curious of you have some sort of "mouth stopper" behind the scunci/goody gear. I'm picturing something like an orange peel wedge, only not biodegradable, eh? I tried looking up something on Amazon and got a lot of random paraphernalia that seem less useful for keeping air from leaking. Learn something new every day, eh?

scary gear, indeed! i DID try a mouth stopper of sorts. i used some plastic film, but it never really helped. never thought of an orange peel. in the end, it's why i added that elastic across my bottom lip. that pushes the surface closer to my teeth AND up, so that my lips come together.

and one other thing. i've found that i need something underneath the hair bands or i'm likely to leak a little saliva. i tried those 2" x 2" sterile pads you find in the bandaid section? worked okay but i'm too cheap to pay for that. then i tried just a kleenex folded up. that didn't work as well.

finally, i ended up with a glasses cleaning cloth. both my wife and i wear glasses and over the years have amassed a few. these work really well folded up and have the added benefit of being washable and thus reusable. i suppose any cloth would do the trick. i just happened to think of the glasses cleaning cloth.

i was broadly speaking. in actuality, it was that perforated plastic piece that is part of the packaging on the baby wipes many of us use to wipe our masks with.

A double sided boil and bite mouth guard (without the breathing hole in the middle) is often recommended as something to keep air from leaking out the mouth.
