Res Med users quesion
Can anyone with a res med air sense machine tell if the heated hose can be
unplugged ( the electric connection) when not using the humidifier or would
I have to purchase a separate hose?
Thank you.

You will definitely need a separate hose. If you try to use the heated hose unplugged, you will get massive leaks and will not get your prescribed pressure. If you don't have a hose, they can be purchased for as littla as $5 on ebay...free shipping.

You can easily use the heated hose plugged in but with no humidifier being used.
You can just turn the hose air temp all the way down to the off position if you don’t want the air warmed.
No need for a separate nonheated hose unless you just want one.
So plug it in as usual.....just turn off the power to it by setting hose air temp to OFF.

Not necessary but a person can.
You can remove the water chamber and insert a special end plate but it costs an extra 20 bucks and the same result can be obtained by leaving water chamber in place with no water in it but need to remember to turn off all humidification settings because you don’t want to heat a dry chamber.....it will stink.
Lots of options available with both the heated hose attached with or without water in the chamber to customize both the air temp and humidification needs.

Re: Res Med users quesion
Quick question,if you turn off both temp and humidifier and leave water in the chamber is that what is called “passover “ setting?
Re: Res Med users quesion
Yep. You get a small amount of added moisture added to the air as it passes over the water. Hence “Passover humidity” term.
A person doesn’t have to turn off hose air temp if they don’t want to for some reason. You can still get passover humidity with the hose air temp adding warmth.
Example might be the bedroom is really cold and the cold air going up the nose or on the face is annoying but the perso prefers minimal added moisture.
Hoe air temp and humidity settings are independent of each other.
