CPAP Newbie Asking for Air Pressure Advice
CPAP Newbie Asking for Air Pressure Advice
I have been on cpap therapy for 48 days. The majority of this time I have been on air pressure of 8cm.
I have struggled with getting my mask to not leak.
I have finally found a mask that seems to have minimal leakage. However, my AHI has not significantly changed (30 AHI).
I upped my air pressure last night to 11.5 (incrementally increasing every couple nights) Yet my AHI was 27.14 (OAI 18.95, HI 2.02, CAI 6.17)
Anyone have any recommendations as to how high I should set air pressure to start seeing my AHI trend downward ?
Thanks in advance !

What model of machine are you using? What mask?
Don't just keep raising pressure until you have a better idea of what's going on... DO read the 1st 'Announcement' at the top of the main page carefully.

the newbie post palerider refers to is here-
viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html
please read it and follow the instructions. the experts need to know more about you and your machine before they can help. without knowing the facts, all they can do would be to guess.
good luck!

Re:stuff
Well, there's that too... on the other hand, part of me thinks that the VERY FIRST POST on the page, that says "Sticky: Newbies PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING" ought to be something people can find on their own... but, what do I know?zonker wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 7:40 pmi just thought you were lazy!palerider wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 7:23 pmThanks, trying to cut and paste links isn't worth the effort for me when I'm posting on my phonezonker wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 6:20 pmthe newbie post palerider refers to is here-

I wonder if Pugsy could make the text bigger and in RED... and maybe flash... it'd probably be ignored anyway, even if it were possible.

Re: CPAP Newbie Asking for Air Pressure Advice
Can't make it bigger or any color but black and for sure no flashing. Sorry.
The forum editor modifications aren't available in the Subject line.

I can help with that if you want. I'm a graphic designer / web designer / developer by profession. But I would need admin access to phpBB to do it. PM me if you'd really like to emphasize that sticky.

Nothing short of an arm that reaches out and moves the mouse will work with some people... (yes, I know there's programmatic methods) but still. heh.JonathanZK wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:16 pmI can help with that if you want. I'm a graphic designer / web designer / developer by profession. Did you try targeting the element using CSS Attribute Selectors? That was going to be my approach.
lol. True. Most new people (myself included) prefer to dive right in -- which I understand is annoying for the regulars. Sorry about that.palerider wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:44 pmNothing short of an arm that reaches out and moves the mouse will work with some people... No. People can either see it as it is or not...if they miss it someone can point them to it. Not that big of a deal.JonathanZK wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:16 pmI can help with that if you want. I don't even have admin access (nor do I want it).
My powers are extremely limited and I am just fine with the limits.

Re: CPAP Newbie Asking for Air Pressure Advice
I didn't even think of trying that, I just tried the usual markup that's used on forum posts... i didn't figure it would work... but one never knowsJonathanZK wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:48 pmDid you try targeting the element using CSS Attribute Selectors? That was going to be my approach.
At some point, it does get old answering the same questions over and over...which of course, is why Pugsy took the time to write the "newbies" post, to save everybody time, including every newbie that reads it... they can take a few minutes, read that, put their equipment in their profile, figure out how to format their SH charts, and start getting answers on their first post, instead of a lot of back and forth...JonathanZK wrote: ↑Mon Dec 17, 2018 9:48 pmlol. Re: CPAP Newbie Asking for Air Pressure Advice
Sorry, reading all the fine print was difficult since I was posting from my phone. BTW, if a post is irritating you, why not ignore it ? Is there any way to block certain annoying users from responding (you know where you can put your cpap hose palerider ! ) ? - I might use this forum more !
