Good luck with the new P10s.
They are likely to come in contact with different parts of your nose and nares than your current Brevida, so you might get a blister.
I did when I first started using it, it was no big deal though.

Re: AirFit P10 headgear question,......
Be careful and don't get it too tight. I made that mistake when I first used it. Got a sore nose (bruised feeling) out of the deal.
The P10 pillow is a bit firmer than what you are using now...it's going to feel more stiff.
If in doubt about a size...go up.
Also a mistake I made...I first tried the XSmall but it was borderline being too small and I knew it...during the night it tried to crawl up inside my nose...not a good feeling and it gets blocked when that happens and you can't breathe so you wake up wondering why your nose is stopped up and you feel like you are suffocating.

Re: AirFit P10 headgear question,......
I'll add that if you don't seem to get as much air through the P10....you probably do have it too tight. Once on and adjusted, try pulling it away from your nostrils just enough to simulate the straps being looser. If there is a big difference in how easy it is to breathe you can make adjustments from there.
You can run the Bravida pretty tight and it feels about the same. A bit loose and the air pressure that makes it fit tight helps to seal it. The difference is that he P10 can move sideways a bit and still work about the same, where I find the Bravida wants to close off airflow to one nostril some when doing that.
Even more important, in my opinion, is to clean your nostril area to remove all oils right before fitting the mask each time. Makes the pillows sort of "stick" in place and stay put with better seal. Doesn't seem to matter on the Bravida, but it does on the P10.

Re: AirFit P10 headgear question,......
I understand what you are saying. Actually, I plan on going as large as I can, to prevent anything from going 'up my nose' per se. I'm an average size guy (6' tall, 186 pounds) with what I consider an 'average' size nose, but my nose is slightly more on the narrow side than wide. We'll see what size is best!Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 30, 2018 11:39 amBe careful and don't get it too tight. I made that mistake when I first used it. Got a sore nose (bruised feeling) out of the deal.

a wee tip-try some lanolin on the surface of the mask. "Lansinoh" is available in the infant care section of your grocery or drug store. it's used by nursing mothers to sooth their sore nipples. it works very well to prevent a sore nose, too!
use just a very tiny amount. rumor has it that pugsy, before she knew better, lathered it on. ended up with the p10 riding one ear!

Re: AirFit P10 headgear question,......
More than a rumor. I did it and freely admit it but here's the sequence....used a little dab for a long time just like everyone says to do and it worked so well that I did like a lot of people do when a little of something works really well....I think to myself "if a little works so good just how much better would a lot be"....and the rest is history. Piled it on and in the middle of the night woke up and one of the pillows was stuck in my ear.
It's a sticky tacky oil when used sparingly and like any oil it will emulsify when heat is added...and our bodies are 98.6 degrees or so...so it warms that oil up and if you get too much warm oil...things will slip and slide everywhere but where you want them to be.

Well so much for USPS tracking. Still don't have my package, and all it says now is 'in transit to next facility.' At least it made it to Florida since it shows Jacksonville as of yesterday.
I figure it will get here tomorrow or Tuesday, but I probably won't mess with it for real until next Friday night. That way it doesn't matter much whether I sleep well or not.

I had this same issue and found loosening the straps by adjusting them helped a lot. Ayr saline nasal gel helped a lot too. I had a hard time getting used to wearing a mask at all, but the p10 really worked for me. Super comfortable and not restricting at all. I have a hose buddy, so the lack of a swivel doesn't bother me at all. The hose is super flexible.Jas_williams wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 12:33 pmWhen you first use the P10 you can feel like it hurts the nose night 3 was worst for me but then gets better I love the minimal size of it

Re: AirFit P10 headgear question,......
I've been using theAirfit P 10 for several years now. It's a great mask. It's totally minimalist and you barely feel it. The air diffuser is the best on the market. If you hold your finger in front of the air diffuser you can barely feel the air. 10 inches away and your bed partner won't feel a thing which is a huge improvement for people who sleep on their side. The strap on the air fit seems dumb, and maybe it is, but it actually works quite well and quite intuitively. It's a split strap and by moving the position of the two split straps on the back of your head, it changes the tightness of the mask. It is actually much more intuitive and easy to do this than it would be to use some sort of Velcro adjustment strap. Occasionally the straps get a little bit too loose and then it's time to remove them from the mask and throw them in the wash on hot, and then dry them hot as well. This shrinks the strap enough to get a few more years out of it.
The other trick is to use the little clips that come with the mask. They do allow you to shorten the straps a little bit. I mostly don't use them, but when my straps get a little bit more stretched out they have come in handy.
One thing I found recently was that the size of the nasal pillows made a difference in terms of how much air I seem to get. I had a cold in October and I switched from the medium pillows that I normally use to the large pillows. What a difference in airflow! Even though sometimes the large pillows leak because they get unseated in my nostrils, I still am using them. So you might want to try experimenting with one size pillow up from what you normally use and see if you can get used to that because you'll get better airflow.
In terms of the swivel it's completely unnecessary. The hose attached to the P 10 is incredibly flexible. I used to use the Aloha mask which I loved, but since I've gotten my air fit P 10 the aloha has never again seen any love!
I don't work for ResMed and nor do I have any stock in them but I love this mask! It improved my CPAP experience quite a bit.

Re: AirFit P10 headgear question,......
Sounds like I may be the only person on the forum that the P10 doesn't work for. I don't like it shifting around at night...I can start with it just right, but all night long the strap that I had near my forehead when I went to bed is moving towards the back of my head and ends up making the mask too tight. Love the quietness and lightweight features...give me the P10 nosepiece with the Swift FX or Brevida adjustable headgear, and I'd be using it. Or just modify the Swift FX to have more diffuse venting like the P10, that would also be a winner for me.
