No SmartStart on ResMed AirSense 10?
After using a Philips Respironic machine for many years, I recently replaced it. My new provider (Lincare) gave me a ResMed AirSense 10; since they didn’t provide a manual, I looked online and found some videos on YouTube. The demo’ed machine in one video had SmartStart, but the CPAP I received from Lincare didn’t. Does this mean that they furnished an older (or cheaper) machine?
TIA.
TIA.
Re: No SmartStart on ResMed AirSense 10?
What is the exact name and/or model number shown on the machine you were given?
As far as I know SmartStart is indeed available on all the AirSense 10 models even the bare bones basic machine.
It does however have to be turned on in the clinical setup menu area.
Do you know how to get to the clinical setup area? Did you find the user manual online or the clinical/provider manual online?
The user manual won't tell you how to get to the area of the setup menu where you can turn on SmartStart.
You can get the clinical manual here by requesting it via email

Re: No SmartStart on ResMed AirSense 10?
Thanks for all the info.
I understand now that this is just the basic AirSense model, but if I can set the SmartStart myself, are there still reasons to request an upgrade to the Autoset?

The CPAP model doesn't record any really useful data, the Autoset (and even the Elite) does.
The Autoset will adjust itself to your changing needs during the night, and day to day.
Basically, with your machine, you can't really figure out what to do to make your therapy better... With the Autoset, you can.
