Mouth Leaks
Re: Mouth Leaks
I vote for mask movement leaks. I wouldn't do more than raise and eyebrow and just watch at this point if I was sleeping through the leaks.
If it was tape coming off leaks I would suspect more prolonged blocks of large leak.
ResMed will give you a Mr Smiley face until you hit 30% or more time in large leak.
If you are sleeping through the leaks and feeling good otherwise...I vote for maybe raising an eyebrow only and work on mask fit itself if possible if they bug you too much to see them.
Now if it was half the night up around 60 L/min....different story and different discussion.
Listen to what your body tells you....about your sleep quality and how you feel during the day.

Re: Mouth Leaks
Thanks Pugsy. I will quit worrying about it. Especially since I kind of enjoy using the CPAP now. I thought it would be a real pain; but I think it actually helps me to go to sleep quicker. I know that I will keep looking at the SH numbers every morning for a while; but hopefully, I will just let it do its thing.

Re: Mouth Leaks
I was going to show you an example of for sure mask movement leaks but I can't get imgur to load right now.
My internet is out due to snow on the dish and when I hot spot with my phone the images won't load because of the connection speed.
I taped my mouth just to make sure what my big leaks were from.
I was spending half the night in 50 to 70 L/min leak territory. It was a new mask that I was trying and I figured it was probably mask fit that was the issues but needed to make sure.
You may need to shrink up the P10 headgear a bit with a good hot washing. That's what I do when I start seeing consistent big leaks and it usually fixes the issue.
The P10 headgear stretching out is the main weak link in this mask IMHO.

Re: Mouth Leaks
I will look forward to seeing the example. The package that came with my first P10, with the 3 sizes of pillows, included some headgear clips to make it tighter. I have not used them, since I guess my big head works well enough. I have moved the headgear to make it tighter and looser; but it doesn't seem to make much difference, since the pillows don't seem loose at any position.

Here's one example I did to show mask movement leaks.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=172281&p=1260196&hi ... s#p1260196
It was when I was trying the DreamWear and I needed the small frame instead of the medium and I didn't have a small frame at the time.
I taped my mouth shut just to make sure it wasn't mouth leaking I was seeing and the tape was still in place in the morning.
Later on I was able to get the small frame and another experiment showed much better leak numbers.

Re: Mouth Leaks
Yep, that looks familiar. As far as taping goes, I tried taping straight across, but ti came off. Is that the recommended way, or do a couple up and down strips work too?

Re: Mouth Leaks
I just taped horizontally...2 inch blue painters tape (always have some handy and I am the queen of cheap). Some people do a vertical tape...some people do both.
Whatever works is fine.
I don't normally tape except to rule out mouth leaks when I am experimenting with something.
Having the tape in place can also disrupt my sleep (comfort thing) and my sleep is already fragile enough from other stuff that I don't want to make it worse just trying to get a pretty leak line that doesn't really hurt anything for it to be ugly.
Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease thing.
Sleep quality has always been my primary goal and not necessarily pretty graphs or pretty numbers.
Without good sleep quality the pretty graphs and nice low numbers don't mean much.

Re: Mouth Leaks
I had said that I tried the Scunci in my first post today; but it didn't help. I am actually thinking of using it as a chin strap to see if it might work that way.zonker wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 3:17 pmjust curious...did you ever try the hairband method i'd linked?MVPinBoynton wrote: ↑Mon Nov 12, 2018 11:55 amYep, that looks familiar.
