Sore throat - Chin strap, tape?

So I have been CPAP user since 7/27/18, switched from full face mask to nasal pillows (P10) in August. In the last few weeks have been getting sore throat. Started to use a chin strap a few weeks ago but still seem to have sore throat. Any suggestions? I do use heated tubing and humidifier on my Resmed Auto. Things to check to make sure chin strap is placed properly? Should I try taping?

Not sure the chin strap would be a factor? If not mouth breathing...

I would fiddle with the settings that effect humidity and hose temperature. If these are on Auto you can still increase the settings and try it manually.

to the OP, i agree (obviously!) with realshelby. heating and humidity are a very personal thing. what works for me might not work for thee.play around with the settings and see what you can find as a good combination.

I suspect that you (like me) are having issues with air escaping past your lips. Also, a chin strap does not fully keep your jaw closed. Occasionally even if your jaw opens a little bit, it is enough to get a large amount of air rushing through your mouth and throat. For me, the only thing that worked is taping. I use 3M Micropore paper tape. If you do decide to go the taping route...when removing it, to prevent damage to your upper lip, ensure to roll the tape off. Don't yank it straight off.

I agree and would add a cervical collar as well if taping alone doesn't work.

Seems like I need a more specific description of what OP means by "sore throat" cause my first reaction is have the doctor say whether or not this "sore throat" is of the infection kind or if it is irritation from something else like the CPAP.
