If your apnea isn't adequately controlled, nothing else will help your oxygen levels, that's why that's the first thing to take a look at.Idobelieveinfairies wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:19 pmI can post some charts later, but of course Sleepyhead won’t show the oxygen levels, which I believe are the key data point at this stage. Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
if I may add - what palerider said is the way to go, his advice has helped me a lot in the past already.
in the end it's in your own interest to feel better, and with a little bit of knowledge you can do it!
About the oximeter question, I tried the CMS50D and CMS50F. The CMS50D is much cheaper but it hurt me a lot. As others have said you can integrate that into sleepyhead to have a good overview of all the data.
(EDIT: This should be the CMS50D+, thank you palerider!)

Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
Important side note, The CMS50D *does not record data*, you need to get the CMS50D+, at least.
Yes, confusing of them to have a D and D+ (plus) model, but that's how it is.

Alright. I already have the software, so I’ll work on uploading some data this evening.
Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
You've got the cart before the horse. To state what palerider is saying a different way - When you have an obstructive apnea you stop breathing. When you stop breathing your O2 levels drop.palerider wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 6:46 pmIf your apnea isn't adequately controlled, nothing else will help your oxygen levels, that's why that's the first thing to take a look at.Idobelieveinfairies wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 2:19 pmI can post some charts later, but of course Sleepyhead won’t show the oxygen levels, which I believe are the key data point at this stage. Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
They are also incorrect that it cpap with a higher pressure doesn't provide more oxygen. Less Apnea's = more oxygen, higher pressure (as in denser air) also means more oxygen. Mine went slightly low on a cpap O2 test, (87%), and optimizing my treatment resolved that. and the "optimization" was going from 1-2 AHI to .1 AHI. so I'd say you definitely have room to optimize your treatment.. as others have mentioned, read the newbie post and post your results.

Instead of Sleep apnea it should be called "Sleep deprivation, starving of oxygen, being poisoned by high CO2 levels, damaging the body and brain while it's supposed to be healing so that you constantly get worse and can never get healthy Apnea"
Re: Low Oxygen Levels on CPAP
This is another one of those situations where the statement is "technically" correct, but practically wrong.nicholasjh1 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 31, 2018 10:51 amThey are also incorrect that it cpap with a higher pressure doesn't provide more oxygen.,,, higher pressure (as in denser air) also means more oxygen.
Since inspired air is 21% oxygen and atmospheric pressure is 760 mmHg (at sea level), the partial pressure of oxygen is 0.21 x 760 mmHg = 160 mmHg.
Now, add in a cpap at 10cm H2O, and the equation changes to:
Since inspired air is 21% oxygen and cpap pressure is 767 mmHg (at sea level), the partial pressure of oxygen is 0.21 x 767 mmHg = 161.07 mmHg.
So, *technically* it's more oxygen... but *practically*, it's less than 1% more, or an insignificant amount.
Your improvement was because you were breathing better, not because there was "more oxygen" in the air you were breathing.

OK, charts, charts, charts! I don't know what information is needed, so here is all the stuff. (Most of the stats are from Sunday night instead of last night, because I had the mask on for a good long time and thus had more data)

Great! Yes! Will do!!
...
How do I do that?
Don't tell me...there's a link to a thread somewhere that I should have already seen.

Go here and request the clinical/provider manual for your machine.
It not only explains how to get to the super secret area where you can changes settings but it also has some really useful information in it about your machine. I could tell you how to make the changes but I really think people need to get the manual and learn about their machine.
