Question about wifi and cellular uses in Dreamstation

Post by Islandwoman » Sat Oct 27, 2018 4:31 pm

I have decided on a Dreamstation Auto for my new machine. I am confused about the WiFi or cellular choices for the modem. My sleep doctor doesn't require anything sent to him or a DME at this point. I saw him recently and he said to call for a prescription for a new machine when I decided what I want. Are the WiFi and cellular connections just for communication with a physician? I have used used Sleephead for nearly five years. Will the WiFi connect to sleepyhead on my Dell computer?

The modem in the Dreamstation is for communicating usage results. In my case, I asked the DME to send them to the doc when I had an appt. They did. They can also check compliance for insurance purposes. They can also adjust the pressure remotely - but so can I now that I belong to this forum. :D

To use Sleepyhead, you have to take the SD card out of device and pop it into your computer to download, the Dreamstation doesn't communicate with your computer.

No, it won't.. So you don't need the wifi or cell modems for your machine.

Thanks to you both. I won't bother with cellular or WiFi.

If you're interested in connecting to sleepyhead via wi-fi you may want to look at Toshiba flashair sd cards. These DO connect to your wi-fi, You then user a different program called Flashpap. Flashpap copies the information from the sd card, into a directory on your hard drive.. You then 'import' from that directory into sleepyhead.

Here is a 16gb flashair card from amazon for around $25.00 https://smile.amazon.com/Toshiba-FlashA ... ref=sr_1_3
