Very tired

Post by ddm » Mon Nov 13, 2006 9:11 am

I had my sleep study done last Wednesday the 8th. Last night was my fourth night sleeping with the new CPAP and the first night that I slept the entire night without waking up. I slept for around 7 hours straight with no interruptions.

Question though; Why do I still feel very tired when I woke up? I feel like I could go asleep if I closed my eyes right now. I never felt that way before I started using the CPAP. In fact, I wasn’t tired at all before.

I expected to either feel no difference or more awake when I wake up, but not much worse. Have I just not given it enough time? Any ideas?

I have the same problem, got to the CPAP FAQ section at the top of this page and read the one about REM rebound. I asked a similar question and got 7 responses, of which most directed me to this part of the forum. It made me feel much better in knowing that I wasn't alone and it makes tons of sense..... good luck

You can get much better resopcnes if you fill out your profile and include your treatment pressure in the comments. Jim

goofproof: Although I appreciate your suggestion, it doesn't allow any of my information to be entered as there is no selection for:

Fisher Paykel HIC230I (has built in humidifier)
Fisher Paykel light mask (not sure of the exact model)

titration = 10

As I said though, I had no problem sleeping last night and slept a solid 7 hours without waking up, so I was surprized to feel so tired.

Thanks for the suggestions though.
