Somewhat related........Recently I read an article about a study where there was found a correlation between childhood obesity at 2? 3? and the amount of sanitizers the parents used in the household. The families using more sanitizers had more obese children.

I believe it was in B.C. where they are tracking a large group of individuals. The children in question were observed at 2? 3? Months and then again at 2? 3? years.

Obviously it's not a specific study or a double blind study, just a curious finding; noting also that correlation is not necessarily causation.
Oh No! Please don't say you found out where DH lives and been going thru his trash reading it! Jim
DH didn't contribute to this thread with any advice, good or bad ........ yet you chose to gratuitously denegrate the person.

What's it to you? Do you get warm fuzzy feelings defending someone that's a problem that people have to constantly correct?

Unfortunately, many people tend to stop reading too soon,
and stop thinking even sooner.
As a public servant, I know this all too well. People stop reading and thinking too soon, but they can never manage to bring themselves to stop talking soon enough.
(Ahem.) I noticed . . .

What's it to you? I was simply pointing out that some forum members act all holy and mighty, like they are on some noble mission to free the board from misinformation. And sometimes these same board members are just plain bullies. If these same board members were honest with themselves, they would know the difference.

The board members you are speaking of don't care. People have called them bullies for years now and it makes no difference. Today it's D.H., tomorrow it's me, next day it will be you or any member who challenges them. They get those "warm fuzzy feelings" when they bully someone. The worst of it is that no one stops them.

It's a pain in the ass, that's what.

One of the big reasons that this board is a *better* source of help to people seeking it is that bad advice gets squashed quicker and more effectively than some other places.

That *HELPS PEOPLE*.

All this *bullshit* about "oh, you're a bully because you're not nice to the person over there who's hurting people is hogwash.

If you want to do something *useful* see if you can't make some kind of contact with DH and get him to quit posting crap.

While not all people who are internet bullies realize that's what they are doing, it's pretty clear that some know it full well and are quite proud of it. With some all you have to to is look at their avatar to get the fact that they full-well know what they are doing. And this forum is structured in a way that not only permits bullying up to a certain point, but even seems to favor it to at least some degree, thanks to the official light modding policy.

But, if the light modding policy permits bullying, then it also permits people to call the bullying out. It would be sheer ridiculousness if the light modding policy only allowed bullying and not calling bullying out. To prohibit criticism of bullying but not bullying itself would amount to an actual proactive pro-bullying policy, not merely some sort of "neutral" light modding policy.

I really haven't found this forum to be superior by dint of squashing people more than the other one does. The other board is not inferior for lack of bullies. There are, for example, plenty of threads calling out SoClean on the other forum, no special bullies needed for people there to criticize SoClean on the merits nor to call out SoClean supporters on specific questionable claims. But bullies don't get their way there, so they can live here and complain about the other forum where they are not welcomed or allowed to bully. Here they bullies be actually praised for it, and here hosanas about how wonderful they are for squashing people. There definitely seems to be some animus by certain bullies for the other forum based on their lack of welcome there.
