Sleepyhead question

I'm a new CPAP user and I've got a question regarding sleepyhead. I've lost some of my data and I was wondering how I can retrieve it.

I rented a Phillips dreamstation for 3 weeks and imported the data to my sleepyhead. I used the SD card that came with the dreamstation.
Then I rented the ResMed Auto Cpap 10 for a week and used that SD card.
Sleepyhead showed me both datasets in the same profile, which is what I wanted.

Then I bought a machine, a ResMed Auto CPAP 10 and used the SD card that came with this machine. I've had it only for 3 days. Over the first few days, I was able to see the data from all 3 of the machines. Unfortunately, today I lost all the data from the other 2 machines. I noticed my loss of data when I was looking at the overview tab.

I've tried rebuilding the data using the data => rebuild but it doesn't help.

Any suggestions?

Fortunately I have a printed report from the rental company for the Phillips dreamstation and I do keep my own excel log of my AHI numbers but I really liked all the data that sleephead provided.

And for those wondering, the Phillips dreamstation VS ResMed, the ResMed algorithm works significantly better for me. With Phillips I was anywhere between 0.5 AHI to 9 AHI per day, with an average of around 4 per night. ResMed has been consistently under 2, with only a few days over 1 actually.

The first thing SleepyHead does is make a backup copy of the card data, in its original format. I do not currently have SleepyHead installed but I believe there are two things you can try.

1. Under the File menu? An option to rebuild data

2. Create a new profile and point it at the backup data to pull into SleepyHead.

I'm not able to rebuild the data

I was able to find the folders containing the data but whenever I try to import the data nothing happens. After I try to import the data a second time, sleepyhead crashes.

I tried importing the data to new users but it also fails.

This is where it would have been nice to save a copy of the old data from the other machines in a folder on the desktop instead of relying on SH's back up.
SleepyHead is a Beta software and it is buggy and it can break (all software can break).
SleepyHead doesn't create a mirror/copy backup of the SD card contents when it makes a backup of the files.
If doing a rebuild of the data doesn't fix the issue then I have no idea what to maybe try. Maybe PaleRider will have an idea how to work around it. He will be by later.

When it comes to data back up, I tend to go over board. I keep a copy of our data on the hard drive which I back up to an external storage device I store in the safe.

SleepyHead DOES make a backup of data.

I think all of your backup data defaults to MyDocuments/Sleepyhead/profiles/patient name/machine ID/Backup

Separate backup sets are maintained for every patient and machine. If you expand profiles you will see the patients, expanding patients show their machines, expanding each machine shows the backups. The actual backup files are several layers below the backup folder.

You can select what directory is used for data. The backup is a subdirectory of that folder. If you change the folder root for Sleepyhead, it will create all of the file structure it needs for profiles, events, screenshots and other subfolders.

Lesson learned. I'll make a copy of the SD card data going forward. Will be easier once I get the Toshiba Flash air card. Thanks guys.
