WOW

Post by Pete » Sun Nov 12, 2006 11:59 am

Hi all

Its 5.55pm here in the UK and I have been awake since about 8am... I haven't felt tired or fallen asleep once, I feel tingly all over..... the reason

I finally managed my first whole night on apap

It all started over a week ago when I was lent one to try, it didn't have a humidifier and after two hours the first night I was in so much pain I had to stop, my sinuses were really painful and very dry, as was my mouth and nose, I tried again the next night only to make matters worse and ended up with infected sinuses. Managed to then get hold of the gear below and went to see the doctor about the infection, got prescribed antibiotics.... had violent allergic reaction to them and then found out I had been given penicillin and I've been allergic to that since a kid.... it gets better.... had really bad tooth ache after the first night so went to the dentist and found I had a dying nerve in a molar so had to have root canal work done as well..... read on here about nasal irrigation and have been doing that for the last four days.... well its cleared the infection.... no more bright green hankies and for the first time in years my nose has been really free.... so last night thought I would give it a go and hey presto fell off to sleep pretty quick and didn't wake for 8 hours straight....

So if you are having teething problems as well hang in there its worth it in the end..... oh and go squirt some salty water up your nose twice a day its great......

Just wanted to share this

Thanks to all who have helped in the last week

Pete

Way to go, Pete!! Congratulations!!! Hope you have continued success, and can get some good sleep. Once all the pieces fall into place--CPAP therapy is great! Cindy

Yes! I don't do it that often anymore, but I remember the great feeling of being able to BREATHE out of BOTH nostrils - wow, something that works, and is inexpensive, and can be FUN too - do you do a 'snort 'effect, to make bubbles? I sometimes had to do that, to 'get the flow' started...then the games began! . ...a child at heart here .
