12-V Power Adapter for AirSense 10

Post by stevezoller » Thu Sep 20, 2018 3:29 pm

I just spent 30 minutes searching the forum for this answer but didn’t find it. :-(

I just switched from a ResMed S9 to the AirSense 10. We spend five months/year in our RV. I have ResMed’s 12-24 volt power supply for the S9. But since the AirSense has a barrel plug, the S9 3-pin plug won’t work.

Seems like everyone who had the 12-24 volt adapter or even a battery pack would need/want a simple adapter rather then needing to buy a new power supply when the switch from the S9 to the AirSense.

Rather than buying another $90 12-24 volt power supply, is their just a 3-pin-to-barrel plug adapter I could buy instead?

Thanks.

I am not aware of any other option. Perhaps secondwindcpap would buy your old adapter?

It isn't just the shape of the plug - they have a bit of circuitry in the plug that signals the pump that this is a proper supply. People have tried to hack the old plug, and I'm sure the new one will be unraveled, but its probably not worth risking your pump with a hack. You just have to consider this an added cost of using ResMed.

You *might* be able to *make* an adapter. I don't know of any commercially available ones.

You should have purchased another S9...There are lots of new and almost new available. Virtually identical to the Airsense 10.
Unless your S9 is completely shot, use it in the RV.
