Hi, It's been a while, new equipment!

Post by FairSpirit » Thu Nov 09, 2006 9:18 pm

Hello Everyone! I have been away a good while, but I hope everyone is doing well and their xpap is doing good. I have a new medical supply company and today I got new equipment. I know nothing about this brand of equipment so maybe if anyone out there does, they can comment on it.

My CPAP is the Invacare Polaris EX with SoftX

My Mask is the Invacare Twilight Nasal Mask

I napped with it today and all went well. Anyone have this cpap or mask? Thanks!

No, that's not the renamed Aeiomed line.

This is Invacare Polaris EX CPAP with SoftX

The erstwhile Aura ersthwhile Everest Headrest with Nasal Seal mask is an Invacare Twilight NP - which can be found on cpap.com https://www.cpap.com/productpage/1717 for $99
and in Invacare's price list http://www.invacare.com/product_files/P ... L_RESP.pdf on page 8 for -gulp - $210

Good to see you again, Fair Spirit!

The way these companies keep naming their stuff such similar names does get confusing, cflame. I mix them up, too.

As ozij said, the Polaris TR (previously Aeiomed "Everest/Aura") and the Twilight NP (previously Aeiomed "Headrest/Aura") I have are not the same as the similarly named items Fair Spirit is using from Invacare.

Invacare already was selling the particular machine and mask Fair Spirit was given. Very different from the Aeiomed machine and mask I have.

When Invacare recently took over the marketing of Aeiomed's products, Invacare chose to change the name of the Aeiomed machine and mask. Unfortunately (imho) Invacare chose to give the two Aeiomed products the same type of "Polaris" and "Twilight" names Invacare was already using for a completely different machine and mask.

Fair Spirit, I'm happy to hear your nap went well. Hope you have many nights of good treatment ahead!

Thanks RG and thanks to the others as well. I was really confused with all the renaming and such. I did well last night too, so I think all will be well with this machine. The mask is fine too, small and not bulky, I'm glad of that. That's what my medicare got me, I still miss having my profile lite mask though, according to my new supply company, my medicare will be mailing me a new one of these masks every 3 months. I wonder if I can request the profile lite instead? I could call and ask about that I guess.

Thanks again everyone!

Medicare will be supplying a new mask every THREE months? My DME told me every SIX months!

Yes. They have it marked down for me. It's every 3 months. Also, they said I can switch the masks to the profile lite also. That THRILLED me!

Also, they are mailing me a new 6' hose every month.

Not sure we are still allowed to ask, but would anyone know how to change the pressure with the Invacare Polaris EX CPAP machine? Thanks!
