Gross.....scum and phlegm

Post by The Baby Crow » Thu Sep 06, 2018 9:09 am

Sorry to post about such a gross subject but i'm stumped.

I was using a full face mask but got too much leaking and uncomfortable.

Been using Nasal Pillows for the past 4 months or so....maybe 6 months. Every morning when I wake up I was a stringy scum on my lips and after I have been up for a while, cough up a weird phlegm as if I had a respiratory infection.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

Finding 'material' on the lips when you wake up , partticularly at the sides of the mouth, may be a fungal infection, with candida very often being the agent.

If the phlegm is white, that would be an additional sign.

There's lots on the internet about treating oral candida. Cheapest way is gargling several times a day with salted water - one flat tea-spoon to one cup. Medicinally, creams containing fluconazole are available.

And as a side note, if you have any infection, fungal or otherwise, a period of being scrupulous about the daily cleaning of your mask, etc, goes towards preventing re-infection.

And cleaning with soap and water is the most effective and cheapest way to go.
