CPAP PRO II?

Post by fredr500 » Sat Sep 01, 2018 7:11 am

It is impossible to search on this topic. I did scan about 4-5 pages looking for the subject and didn’t see it, sorry if this has been discussed before.

I have a Resmed Autoset 10, MyAir results are generally 100% with occasional dips to the high 90s due to leakage, so what I have works and usually if it ain’t broke I don’t fix it.

I just got an ad for CPAP PRO II and it looks interesting. I use a mouth guard so this could handle both needs with 1 device.

Any comments on this?

Never mind. I was searching on Cpap pro. I only found nomask when looking for a url to post. A search on that answers everything.

Please excuse the interruption.

Look at the Tap Pap. Similar kind of product but with newer technology behind it. I have use it...a very nice mask..used it for over a year until the P10 was released.

The CPAP Pro/NoMask was old news back in 2009 when I started therapy.

So old that cpap.com no longer stocks it.
There is inventory available out there

But at twice the price as the TapPap and it really isn't a very popular seller.

I used the original CPAP PRO mask back when I first started CPAP.

I liked it, it was comfortable and worked well for me. I believe it helped condition me to keep my mouth shut when wearing a mask. It also vents nowhere near your face, so it didn't blow in my eyes at all.

However, the comfort pros outweighed the cons.

It took a lot of time to clean each day (although I am probably somewhat OCD about keeping my mask clean - other folks might not have to take as much time or clean as thoroughly).

The mouthpiece was a pain to get right. I ended up buying a cheap solder iron to smooth the inevitable rough edges.

The mouthpiece came in only one size and I have a small mouth.

But the biggest problem was that it was way overpriced and the customer service from the company was terrible. If you called, the rep usually couldn't answer any questions other than how much a part cost. I eventually went to a nasal pillow mask and haven't looked back. I will not be trying the new CPAP PRO II as I doubt the customer service has improved and it is still WAY TOO expensive.

With xPAP therapy, do or do not; there is no try.
