All you're doing by mixing baking soda and vinegar is making less effective baking soda, or vinegar, depending on your ratio.

So, how does that relate to removing soap? The mixture might still be good at that. I don't see the point. For instance, the article states: "But the foam might keep your mildly acidic solution in place longer for applications like the drain or grout on your wall" I tried vinegar before with some success and this seemed to do a better job.

You're right, there is no point in mixing vinegar and baking soda.

If the vinegar removes the soap better, then just soak the mask in vinegar.

If it's the baking soda, then just scrub the mask with baking soda.

Face it, there's nothing to substantiate your feeling that it 'seemed' to do a better job. You'd previously cleaned it with vinegar, maybe that got most of it, and a second cleaning with your ineffective solution was simply enough, physically, to finish the job.

The *RIGHT* answer is not to use a soap that clogs the vents in the first place. I've been using the same p10 mask for 4 years now, and I clean it with dawn or kirkland dishwashing liquid, and an electric toothbrush, which gets on the inside easily. it's spotless, and vents well.
