Camping trip after report

Post by trekwars2000 » Sun Aug 12, 2018 2:55 pm

So I just got back from two nights of tent camping with the fam. For my setup, I bought a 100 AH battery to power my whole setup. As hopped, no issues on battery running out on two nights.

Here are my graphs from the nights. Other than a few wake ups to regrab blankets, etc that fell off (because I was cold) I slept like a baby.

The camp spot was at 8800 feet. Interesting that my median pressure was about 1 cmH20 higher in the thinner air. And the max is about 1.5 higher than I had hit in the last couple weeks.

It looks like you were using humidity. Did you notice how much water was left in the morning?

It was a little tough to tell after the first night as I refilled it balancing on the air mattress. It felt like a normal night, about 2/3rds was gone.

This morning, I think I only poured out a small amount, so about 3/4 was used. But I'm not sure if I got it 100% full.

The first night, looks like the humidity was in the 60s to 70%. Temp and dew point were in the 40s and 50s, respectfully, about 10 degrees apart.

It rained last night at 0100, so overnight humidity was about 55% the first part of the evening and then 90%+. Beginning of the evening temps and dew point was about 60 and low 40s. After the rain came, the temps were in the high 40s, with the dew point only a few degrees less.

(Keep in mind this weather station data is about 3 miles away and 800 feet lower, you can probably subtract about 4 degrees, so that means last night may have been around 45).

Edit to add: I also used the heated hose.

Sounds about right, esp since my three year old was sleeping next to me on the air mattress ;)
