CPAP bed pillow? Anyone tried?
CPAP bed pillow? Anyone tried?
Side sleeper here. Just wondering if anyone has tried one of these pillows and if they are worth the price.

Re: CPAP bed pillow? Anyone tried?
I have and regularly use one that was given to me. I like it, but since I use only a nasal pillows mask, I don't feel it contributes to my success any more than any other very firm flat pillow. Someone who uses the side cutouts to avoid pushing against the mask might say that aspect contributes to warding off mask leaks.

Hi, I use a buckwheat pillow made by one of our members. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NE ... UTF8&psc=1. It's a buckwheat hull/ shredded foam pillow that doesn't really 'give' much. It comes pretty full, and you remove what you need to be comfortable. Go to bed, and make a 'hole' where the head goes, and it will support you and your mask all night.

Re: CPAP bed pillow? Anyone tried?
I use a CPAPMax pillow. I used it a couple years, then set it aside for a couple months. I've been using it almost exclusively the last 6 months. It is very firm. It does have the side cut-outs, and I don't usually use the pillow in the normal alignment on the bed. I usually have it at about 30* off straight- helps my mask fit in the hole better. My neck is very short, and doesn't reach otherwise. I used to take the pillow when I traveled by car, but not anymore.
My travel pillow, and sometimes bed pillow, and am thinking if using it all the time, is a Bucky neck pillow, the traditional U shape. I took some hulls out, maybe 2 cups? I sleep with it orientated somewhat similar to how I use the CPAPMax pillow- the U shape padding goes from my eyebrow, around behind my ear (bad TMD, don't like pressure on my joint) then part way on my lower jaw. I do adjust around the filling for custom support.
I put a regular pillow case on both pillows to try to keep them clean.
Cool discovery- I had to have knee surgery, and didn't like a pillow between my knees, as the pillow always touched my knees. The Bucky keeps the knees from touching, is small, and forms well to the legs so that the pillow is secure.

Re: CPAP bed pillow? Anyone tried?
I've been using that same pillow for a couple of years now. Best pillow I ever had.
Even if I magically ceased needing a CPAP tomorrow, I'd keep using that pillow.
It weighs 234 pounds (just kidding) but I take it with me on trips because no other pillow is as useful FOR ME. Something to do with the geometry of my shoulders, neck, and skull, but every other pillow is too low for me.
I may buy another one just to make sure that I have a lifetime supply.

Re: CPAP bed pillow? Anyone tried?
As a newbie to the CPAP "experience", I could not get comfortable sleeping on my sides - with either nasal pillows or a nasal mask - because of the discomfort, so I bought the CPAPmax pillow 2 days ago. At first, it was too hard, but it has layers inside that can be removed to change the hardness. I removed the thin one - and the pillow became perfect for me. Also, there are 2 different types of sides - one that is supposed to be cooler (appealing, but a bit harder) and one that is supposed to be plusher. I've chosen to use the plusher side. Anyhow, what a great difference in comfort - and help with preventing some mask movement. For me, well worth the purchase. Best.

I have been using the Blue MyPillow for a number of years previous to being a CPAP user. I just continued using it and it works great for me.
