What I'm wondering is: If this continues, better to stay at max pressure with a brief wakeup? Or lower the max pressure and let the AHI go up? Not changing anything based on this one night.
dang it, i should read the WHOLE post before responding. got to this sentence and you pretty much say what i was going to say. you don't want to change things based on one night.

now i'm no expert, but i say let it go for now. if this becomes a pattern then someone will have suggestions.

these one night symptoms are a bugger. pugsy likes to think of them as gremlins that invade our sleep from time to to time.

so let it go and see what happens.

if nothing else, i've now bumped your thread to the top for awhile....
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Agree completely. I debated whether or not to even post it. I'm going to let things ride.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I suppose an obvious question will be - did I go overboard celebrating the 4th? I did not. It's very rare for me to drink alcohol these days.

What I'm wondering is: If this continues, better to stay at max pressure with a brief wakeup? Or lower the max pressure and let the AHI go up? Not changing anything based on this one night.
Well, to me, the whole point of cpap is to lower the AHI.

If you're needing 20cm pressure to somewhat tame (though not eliminate) things, then you'll just make it worse by limiting the max.

If you're not having any other side effects besides waking up, then I say leave the pressure up there, because the events are more likely to disturb your sleep.

My guess is that it was the events you were still having at 20cm pressure that woke you up, and not the pressure itself. and your min is way too low.

Thanks. I think that the fact that I jumped straight to blaming the pressure for the wakeup instead of the events shows that I'm still working from a newbie mindset here. Now that you've pointed it out, I realized that if it were the pressure, I probably would have awakened much sooner.

I'm still creeping up on that lower number. Should I be more aggressive?

I would. Given how high your pressure is actually running.

I'm sure your opinion matters, just not to me... or, I'd wager, anybody else here.

Yup, a review of the post history of "Selenium1%" reveals nothing useful, just harassment of people. This "Luser" isn't here for help, hasn't asked a question about their therapy, and has nothing useful to add, just harassment.

It's odd that the titration didn't come up with a higher number?
The titration shows what happened on the night of titration. You were sleeping in an unfamiliar place with wires everywhere and the technician making adjustments to the monitoring equipment. It's really not a "typical" night!
