Re: Has anyone used the SoClean to clean their equipment?
Thanks, @righteous, for just answering my question. I’ll be honest and say that I had forgotten about this forum until yesterday or I would have asked sooner. And, yes, I did do a search, but the thread that kept showing up was a bunch of bickering(like what’s going on here) which I can’t stand reading. While I do appreciate feedback, I don’t appreciate being put down. This is supposed to be a support forum. Thanks, anyway.
Re: Has anyone used the SoClean to clean their equipment?
Here's your support. I own the machine. I use it to disinfect my mask, hose and water reservoir. I have never had pink gunk growing in my reservoir unlike some of the hand washers out there. It is worth the money to me. And yes, loud for the 10 or so minutes it is disinfecting is normal.SleeplessInKS wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 11:04 amThanks, @righteous, for just answering my question. This is the forum to enjoy bickering. In fairness, the forum also routinely offers good advice.
Re: Has anyone used the SoClean to clean their equipment?
If you want to see Pink Gunk, you need to see my A/C Water Drain Pump on my Furnace. If Started to keep running all the time (Dry), took a day to find out the noise. Had son-in-law come over and see what was going on as I can't go into the basement anymore. He took it off cleaned out the lines, it was filled with pink slime keeping the Float switch from dropping, keeping the motor from shutting off.
It's never been cleaned in 15 years, if I had called the repairman out it would have cost $ 150 to 200 dollars for a simple job. He would have replaced it for sure, all it needed was a good cleaning and flushing.
No more pretty Pink Slime, good for another 15 years, not me, the pump! My Sister-in-law just paid a electrician to come out and change out a $ 0.89 Wall Switch, it cost her over $150, I used to be the guy for these go to projects for everyone else, now I can't do it and having to rely on others, it does not feel good.
Most professionals, don't have a clue how to do their profession, they never paid their dues... and never will.

Hi Sleepless... flightco is a long-time member of the forum. Hope this gives you enough information to make your own informed decision:

I will give you some facts, and I base the facts on the fact that I am the one who works in the industry of low temperature sterilzation
1. So Clean claims they use the same technology as is used in hospitals. LIE - the hospital ozone sterilizers cost upwards of 100,000.00 and require an O2 farm (a room with 15 to 20 tall O2 cylinders) to provide pure oxygen to extract the ozone. Besides the fact that SoClean lied about this, why on earth do you think a 300.00 device can even come close to what a 100,000.00 device can do. If SoClean was validated to sterilize or even high level disinfect, hospitals would have hundreds of them rather than the 100K devices. The SoClean just does not have the power to do what you think it does.
2. It does not clean. Period. You think it does, place a small dab of peanut butter in your hose and see if it is still there when the cycle is complete. You think this is not a good test, it is the basis of the VA soil test, the test that all medical cleaners must pass or they cannot claim to clean.
3. Amazon reviews - nothing but feel good stories. I have not read one Amazon review that can factually claim that the SoClean kills germs. If you know of one, please post the link because I would like to read it. What is the basis of a 5 star review when all they can go on is they like it? Meaningless.
4. I did own a SoClean on the 30 day trial, when I realized what it was vs. the claims they make I returned it under the 30 day return policy. Why not just get one of the room ozone fans and hang your mask in front of it, they would both do the same thing which is nothing.
I am just repeating the same thing I have typed here about a hundred times; for now on I will just say it is awesome, give the scammers your money, you will love it.
This would HELP prevent shillilng, whining, and quibbling.

I support treating SDB.
And I support following manufacturers' instructions for proper cleaning techniques.
I do NOT support SoClean, since it is not related even slightly to either concept that I do support.

How about instead of butting in where you're not wanted, you shut up and go away?

My understanding is that friction inside the forum creates enough ozone to sterilize us all.

Re: Has anyone used the SoClean to clean their equipment?
This has been discussed Ad Nauseam, but the people asking never like the answer because it does not reinforce their decision to spend 300.00 Lucyhere provided a list of facts concerning the SoClean which you and the OP chose to ignore, this is pretty typical and one of the reasons it is difficult to get a good response on this subject. The people asking are either simply trying to convince themselves they did not waste 300.00 or they are a shill of the company (of which we have had many). The last is the fanboy who has not a clue in the world of what it does with no proof that it works but they give it 5 stars because it makes them feel good to think they are doing something medical with their equipment.Righteous wrote: ↑Sat Jun 30, 2018 9:16 amHow about instead of getting in a religious war about it we simply answer the OPs question.
Yes it is normal for it to make a lot of noise when it is running. This is the period when it is generating the ozone. It should run for 7 minutes by default. Don’t open it during this time period and don’t open it or use your CPAP for 2 hours after, while the light is orange.SleeplessInKS wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 8:03 pmI just purchased a SoClean machine to clean my equipment. Has anyone else used it? I’m noticing that it’s kinda loud when it runs. Is that normal?

Re: Has anyone used the SoClean to clean their equipment?
Based on recent discussions, my views on SoClean have now changed:
SoClean is a device designed to deliver a toxic gas that is a pollutant and documented lung irritant to a medical device used for breathing.
SoClean is a lie sold by creating misunderstanding in the minds of the uninformed to take advantage of irrational fears that are being fed in order to prey on, swindle, and cheat others.
It is appalling when people prey on the elderly and uninformed as easy marks to steal their money. SoClean belongs in the same category as phone call scams for stealing identities by claiming to sell a product that will protects identities, since SoClean can only make your medical equipment dirtier by distracting you from meaningful, useful cleaning.
If you have been a victim by being tricked into buying SoClean based on the unsubstantiated claims of con artists, speak to your doctor, your local police, and consumer protection groups.
Join my campaign to stop the lies of SoClean. Protect yourself and your loved ones.

Re: Has anyone used the SoClean to clean their equipment?
Actually SoClean does not create a misunderstanding. It outright lies.
From https://www.soclean.com/The world's first automated CPAP cleaner and sanitizer
Introducing a faster, easier, more effective way to clean CPAP machine equipment.
It arguably does not clean, but it sanitizes. To advertise in the US that it cleans is illegal false advertising!
The Feds just have not caught up with this Massachusetts company yet.
It is much like the old VW Thing that was marketed for off-road but was no better than any other vehicle. VW was forced to offer to buy back all those vehicles they sold.
