Philips ASV vs Resmed S10 ASV

which ASV does everyone prefer Philips or the Resmed S10? I have both right now
I'm thinking of selling a new Resmed S10 to the highest offer. I had several strokes

Resmed invented the ASV, and they do it best.

I have the ResMed ASV. In order to get an Rx for the ASV machine, I had to take a sleep test to show Medicare that the ASV technology worked for me. In that sleep test, my doctor used the Respironics ASV machine. At that time, I had been using a non ASV, ResMed bilevel machine. During the sleep test, I immediately noticed the difference between the ResMed machine and the Respirionics. There was an ever so slight delay in the inhale response with the Respironics. Conversely, the ResMed was immediate and seemless in it's inhale response. For the longest time in that sleep test, I found this factor kept me awake.

There are differences in the breathing algorithms amoungst the manufacturers. One will likely closely match your natural breathing pattern and be easier to adjust to. It's just a shame that new patients cannot trial several machines to see which is a good match. So, it's hit or miss with most of us.

We had a local forum-members support group who met monthly and someone having challenges and using a Respironics machine; another member had an extra ResMed which he loaned And wow, the benefits of that swap were petty obvious to us after that month of usr: better skin tone, under-eye darkness almost gone, energy level higher, no longer cold all the time. Person reported much more restful sleep. Bought a ResMed APAP and returned the loaner. The person who loaned it was a good match for Respironics APAP algorithm. Our group also loaned extra masks so people could try other styles and shared a recording oximeter to get our therapy pressure numbers optimized.

thanks so much that's really helpful! I had given up on the Resmed since it was sensitive and jumped to high pressures. I have it on auto asv now with an epap of 8-9cm to 12-14cm and the ps is set on maximum like 16.5cm

I had horrific strokes even though I was on the philips asv+oxygen.

I wasn't getting restful deep sleep so I added these pharmas klonopin and trazodone. but it's controversial because klonopin is associated with a 50% risk of developing Alzheimer's I think according to a bmj study
