Are you saying on the new M machine the patient menu can be locked?

WOW

I don't have M and didn't notice that this poster did.

I guess I stand corrected.

One more reason to buy the tried and true older (tank) version. It will be a cold day when anyone "locks" a patient choice menu from me.
I'm sorry, I was unclear. The DME can't lock up the settings in an inaccessible way on M machines. Teri used the word "locked" and I went along with using the word (I shouldn't have! lol ) All it takes to access the Provider menu (data/setup) of the M machine is the usual couple of buttons with the plug routine.

Once in "Provider", the M machine gives two choices -- "data" and "setup".

After Teri jumped through the familiar hoops of accessing "Provider" mode, I think she might have forgotten to do the one additional step of pressing the + button to go into the "setup" menu. She may have simply started cycling through the "data". That could have given her an erroneous impression the DME had locked the settings in an inaccessible way.

Sorry I caused confusion. I'm with you, snoregirl...it would be a cold day... !!

Teri,

I just want to point out, even thought you have the M Pro, I am not sure if it is the same as the M Auto that I have, but on the first page of the full report there is Compliance information:

I have a line that reads: Average Flex setting: #, Last Setting: #

# being what ever setting I have or the average. Right now I am trying two.

Either way, I think you should go for your comfort, do not worry about the DME. If there is a real issue say that it should be discussed with the doctor. After all the DME is suppling the equipment, anything medical etc, is between you and your doctor. If your doctor has issue with it, explain, that you were unable to sleep and it is effecting your health. After all you did explain to us that it is disturbing your sleep.

[quote="IBTeri"]now that I know the smart card wont rat. I suppose it will magicily change over night to the settings that I can stand.

I can do this, I will do this.

My disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, nor have I ever worked in the health care field Just my personal opinions.

Rested Gal Laura, it is pretty safe to say that if this is the worst mistake you ever make, the world is still safe for humanity.

You have done so much to help so many that an occasional human error (which you corrected, BTW) is only confirmation that you actually ARE human, and not superhuman as it sometimes appears!

LOL, Birdshell...you're much too kind, but thanks.

It's more like my millionth mistake.

ooops, make that a million and one. Looks like I was wrong about the Smart Card not ratting Teri out with an M machine! I just read this:

RESTED GAL!! TWO Errors in ONE thread! OH, MY!

It won't be easy, but I still think we can forgive you just this once...or twice, as the thread unwinds.

Thanks again for all you do. I, for one, do not know how you do it all!

You ARE allowed to be human. Although your canine friends will be perfect (NOT) , you need not be perfect until at least next year.
